Title: i have a terrible confession to make
Post by: Eel O'Brian on February 12, 2009, 07:13:16 PM
there's this local "all-genre" radio station which serves as my alarm in the mornings

i guess they have a rotating set list, because every other day i awaken to the same song

and now, through endless repetition, i...i kinda like that maroon 5 song "this love"

It's alright. I mean, there are people that like Weezer's stuff post-Maladroit.

I kinda like it too, if it's the song I'm thinking of.

I wake up every morning to the dulcet tones of Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg.

this is the kind of music i used to laugh at my middle-aged teachers for listening to and bringing up in class trying to be hip

"Hey, have you guys heard that new Grayson Hugh song 'Can we talk it over in bed?'"

 :-\

nowadays i would be trying to sex up those same middle-aged teachers with this playing in the background

It's not even a bad song. They have a few good ones

Yeah, "This Love" is by no means a bad song. If you started liking, say, Hinder, we'd have a problem.

I caught my 52-year old co-worker singing Pink lyrics a few months back.

Disturbing.

I set my alarm radio to static between stations and turn the volume up to maximum.  Probably drives the neighbors nuts if they're still home to hear it, but it's the only way I can be bothered to wake up and turn the goddamn thing off.

It's a good song. In fact, Songs About Jane is a decent CD.

Their newer stuff sucks a ten foot shit though.

I have my alarm set to a Christian station because I figure that way I won't be tempted to lay there and listen to the Jesus music but there's been more than a few mornings where I'll be in bed and listening to the music and LIKING what I hear - sometimes to the point that I actually try to search for the songs on the internet at work.  I'm never successful though.  It's hard searching for christian songs by their lyrics 'cause they're all remarkably the same.  It's all a bunch of "praise him" and "he lifts me up" type bullshit.

Sorry, I got tired of three-chord songs with the same lyrics a long time ago.

I have a lot of Bjork, the Imogen Heap album, all the Goldfrapp (I don't consider them chick music at all though), Feist, No Doubt's first two albums, Nightwish, Nelly Furtado and definitely some Fleetwood Mac.

:bow Go Your Own Way :bow2
 :bow Lindsay Buckingham :bow2

All of that is shit except for Bjork and all of the Goldfrapp that isn't Felt Mountain.

And so is wife beating, apparently.

Sorry, shinobi. I worded that wrong. Felt Mountain is Goldfrapp's crowning achievement, the rest of her stuff is on vh1's rupaul's drag race show levels trashy.

It's funny that Muse is the gayest thing on that list.

Emiliana Torrini <3 <3 <3

Do you like Jose Gonzalez?

No I'll have to look him up

Indeed, Emiliana Torrini is omg. Her voice is so beautiful
