Anyone listen yet? I'm nabbing now. I hope it's as good as his last two but that new single has me ehhhhhh
-
The opening track is pretty fucking awesome!
-
Cause you never asked. :'(

3/4ths in and this is definitely on par with his last two albums. It seems a lot more rock-y. Steven Patrick Morrissey is our generation's John Lennon, except more talented and less gay.

I heard it was his best solo material since his early solo stuff or something... good to hear... :-*

Fittingly, Morrissey included the single from that last greatest hits comp he did. It's titled All You Need Is Me.

I'm not feeling it. I don't really like lots of his stuff outside of The Smiths, really.
-
First song I heard from either him OR the Smiths was First of the Gang to Die, and I'm not sure if liking that song is acceptable or not.

The Smiths are definitely better, but Morrissey has produced so much more material as a solo artist that I consider them comparable. Not to mention that Morrissey's backing band consistently sounds rather Smiths-y, especially in regard to Marr-ian jangly guitars. His songwriting isn't as vital as it was when he was younger, but that's understandable, and he's still comes up with some of the best lyrics out there. And that voice. .. :tauntaun

I heard him play some of the new tracks when I saw him last summer. Good stuff, One Day Goodbye will be Farewell is great. I'll listen to the album later.
