Seriously. My last paycheck, they took out $800 in federal taxes. BS I say! It is just all going to go to a welfare queen's 8th child!

Saving money. :lol

i'm a single male business owner, so i get thoroughly reamed by a giant dollar-sign-shaped dildo every year due to self-employment tax
to the tune of just over 7 grand between federal and state, because i guess $30K (before i pay for all my painting supplies) is just fucking clampett-style wealth
-
We are buying a reclining leather couch and love seat with our return. :hyper
The kids have stained the shit out of our old furniture that it looks like it's tie dyed.

Yay getting back money that you earned and was taken away from you!! Yay it's my birthday yay.

Our earning potential is somewhat dependent on the society in which we live. Without the money spent on education, research, health, transportation, etc. by governments over the years, our earning potential would be significantly different. For instance, just try to imagine the Western world if governments never invested in universal primary education.

you're talking to foc
he honestly believes that that would be a better world, in which private enterprise provided all education and healthcare and transportation

I guzzle thy piss as teh sweet nectar!
:bow Prole :bow2

I've looked forward to tax time ever since I bought my house. Between that and the fact I make way more money than my wife, there's always a good tax return that could theoretically cover half the price of Smooth Groove's current PC.

I finally had my other W2 emailed to me today. I contracted the first half of last year, and apparently the company never updated my address and sent my W2 to my old apartment. They also didn't have the capability to reprint W2s until just now.
Refund: $1972 Fed, $200 State. It would have been about $2400 on Federal were it not for a tax penalty on a pension distribution from my prior employer (pre-contract job) at the beginning of last year. It wasn't worth it to roll the distribution into an IRA, really, so I used it on debt reduction.

:piss :smug :piss2

oh boy, i get ~$800 back to supplement my shitty income because i'm a single dude with no kids or home. i'll use it to keep a continuous stream of alcohol flowing in the hope that i can successfully destroy each day's memory in order to deal with the soul-crushing misery that is being an eternal poor :(
