She was in her mid 80s. I was very close to her so this really sucks.
It's kind of weird, though. When I found out that she died, I wasn't so much in grief as I was accepting of her death. I was obviously in shock (I still am), but she was clearly on a physical downfall in the past couple years - she had a few falls and she had to start using a walker. I'm just glad that she never deteriorated mentally.
The weirdest thing though is that recently I've had premonitions about her death, including a dream last night that she died!
Weird stuff. Anyway, I wanted to create this thread in her memory.

I'm sorry for your lost.

Sorry dude. I'm close to my grandma too and can't even imagine her dying.
-
Sorry for your loss. At least she lived a fairly long life.

Sorry for your loss.. Always sucks to lose a loved one.

I'm sorry. MY grandma is in her late 80s and getting weaker and more senile every year apparently. I hope she lives forever because I really don't want to fly to the east coast for anything.
-
sorry, dude
she must have seen quite a lot in her years
-
My condolences. I don't know what I would do without my grandmother.

Sorry to hear it, Guybrush.

Yea. My grandma on my mom's side seemed to be ageless for so fucking long. But these last couple years have been bad. I was used to watching my other grandparents age poorly, but seeing her starting a downward spiral has been weird. The shitty thing is that she refuses to slow down. She still cooks for her church and does all this stuff for other people, I wish she'd just stay home and chill.

She's losing her sight; she always wore glasses but some days she can't see for shit. Some days she can't get out the bed, especially with this shitty Michigan weather. Her strength leaves her, she falls etc. My cousin lives with her and he said she does well through most of the week, then out of nowhere she struggles.
I saw her last month and she was fine in terms of being alert, but she's slower; eh, it's hard to explain. This is a woman who used to spend all Sunday morning in church and most of the afternoon in the casino, or going out to dinner with friends. She still does the church stuff but that's about it.

Thanks guys.
She definitely lived a full life.
