Title: I want to quit so badly. (NOW THE FAVORITE CANDY THREAD)

We've all been working like 11+ hour days, I've been spending more than a third of my weekends on some variety of work shit, I've been sleeping like shit, I'm trying to do the work of 3 people. I'm being told to schedule events at the same time I'm supposed to be doing a web redesign and e-commerce/erp integration at the same time I'm supposed to be like the internet pr guy. I would find this vaguely acceptable if I got paid anywhere near a fair wage, but at the moment I make less than 20,000 a year.

So I come in this morning and I have an e-mail from my boss. The subject is "Thank you" and I think, "Well, it's not a raise, but it's nice to be noticed".

Here is the text of that e-mail:

"I would like to thank the three of you for the half hour I spent untangling the drawstrings for the blinds today so Indro could close them. It was a truly spectacular use of my time."

FUCK YOU. F U C K Y O U. Are you fucking kidding me? You have to be fucking kidding me. I am so glad I'm moving to Korea and getting the fuck out of here.

Last week we had this stupid event whenere I unloaded BY HAND two fucking god damn palattes of product- Close to 100 cases- carted them up 10 floors and gave them away because they didn't wanna pay anyone to help me. My reward: "WHY DID YOU FORGET THE COUPONS". Fucking bullshit fuck you.

Haha. I sent a really kind of eman e-mail back to the lady I work with who was like "Whyd di you forget the coupons". It was like, "Because I was doing your job and my job. We don't all get 6 weeks of vacation and, frankly, if I don't do my job right, none of us will have jobs". I was nicer than that But barely.

I just have a lot of cards on the fucking table. My wife is finishing her thesis and tutoring part time, so I'm trying to just put up with this shit so that she can finish. I dunno. I know I'm in a good position- I got quotes for the kidn of integration work he's asking for and it starts at around DOUBLE my salary. If I walked he'd be FUCKED. Really though, if you were able to get a short tern job or project (which I realize isn't easy to do these days), I'd say run to the hills, but would you leave? Or would you start to feel guilty about dropping your responsibilities with that company and wind up staying anyways?

As for work woes, this kind of shit is why I gave up on trying to work with people... if you're going to be putting employees in a shit situation, you should acknowledge it up front and be as nice as possible to them about it. Of course when I tried to do that to my employees, upper management would give ME shit. Sigh.
