Tucked away within a Sony press release trumpeting next week's arrival of Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 was word that two other anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives, SCE Santa Monica's God of War III and Zipper's MAG, are both slated to arrive this year.
Before today, neither game had been given a firm release window. MAG is a 256-player online shooter, in which players assemble into groups of 8 to duke it out in a persistent world. God of War III, meanwhile, is the latest entry in the beloved beat 'em up series.
"[Killzone 2] ushers in an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show," states the release.
Is Ratchet confirmed or assumed?
Either way it will suck if it's in 2009.
::)
It definitely wasn't needed as a game and if the new one has a shred of creativity, you won't be glad it's around either.
It's cool because it's Ratchet HD and it was something to do for 8 hours, that's it. I don't regret buying it, but Insomniac sucks.
It's the third best console Ratchet if you're being generous.
if critics weren't distinguished mentally-challenged and gave R2 good marks, maybe Insomniac would learn to spend more times on their games.
I sold my copy of R2 last night on Half.com for $40. I never want to see that POS ever again.

That was a good example of a game getting good scores based on nothing but the game meeting every wish of the critics. Never mind that it had become a truly generic game that completely shat on what actually made Resistance fun for those who did enjoy that game back in its day, it did everything the critics asked for so that's a good game right there.

unfortunately I still need it for Resistance PSP
I don't know dude, I was playing TOD the other day (had gritty shooter fatigue something fierce), and I think I might have been a bit too jaded about it the first time around. It doesn't do much new, it's squarely a new Ratchet title to fit right after UYA, but it's still pretty damned entertaining and really well made. I still don't think it was a needed game, but I'm happy it's around, and even if I think this game-a-year stuff is starting to seriously compromise their games, I'm pretty sure it will at worst be a gorgeous breather-title.
MAG will suck, I have no faith in Zipper to put out anything decent. Their SOCOM games were phenomenal until they made it more open and on a larger scale. 256 players? :lol
