K'naan's new album comes out tomorrow: I thought his first one - The Dusty Foot Philosopher was great.
They redid one of the songs on the first album for the new record with Kirk Hammett and it's really nice.

Maybe rap will grow on me someday.

Okay, I downloaded the album. (:pirate, but i'll buy it)
Almost every song is so fucking good.
-
Will download.

I don't like rap, but I love it when you call me big poppa.
I've never heard of K'naan.

For some reason he's not very well known. After this album, I'm sure he's going to be the next big thing. It's too good. This record will bring people together and end hunger. Tomorrow I will not be hungry any longer.

Nah, he'll stay underground. There's a lot of great hip hop out there but it has little mainstream appeal.

Really? Well, he performed on Jimmy Kimmel. Also, as someone who really isn't into this type of music, I found every song on the record to be really catchy. I'm not going to pretend like I know a damn about this sorta music, but the lyrics are excellent and I love the background beats on all the songs -- The African instruments and choruses play into the beats so well on the songs. I think a lot of people will dig this if they hear it.

That was really good.
-
this is officially hot shit.
thanks!

So I liked that song so much I wanted to remind myself to buy the album, and would you look at this!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TJGDIO/ref=dm_ty_alb
Amazon MP3 is selling it for two dollars.
For those that aren't clued in, Amazon MP3 shits on Itunes from a great height. 256k bit MP3s, absolutely no DRM (seriously, no joke, completely DRM free. Copy to your hearts content), and they do ridiculous deals like this all the time.

Holy awesome. That's insane.

Yeah K'naan kicks fucking ass. My friend caught him at Lolla last year I think and loved the shit out of him.
-
I'm gonna viral for Amazon MP3 real quick.
It should be checked on the daily.
They sell a different album every day for $2. Sometimes it's a bit more, like $3 or $4. It's not always great, but a lot of the time it is. New stuff, too. I got the new Morissey for $2 the other day.
They also do 5 for $5 Fridays, where they put up 5 albums for $5 a piece.
My music collection has BALLOONED since I started using Amazon MP3. I buy like at least an album a week.

He seems like a real upstanding guy -- I've seen some interviews with him, and he totally does that whole 50cent-pseudo-gangsta shit in. And it works perfectly, because he was raised in the 4th most dangerous city (http://www.aneki.com/dangerous_cities.html) in the world (Mogadishu), so nobody's gonna say a damn thing about his class.
edit: What the fuck, Washington DC is the 5th most dangerous city? :lol :lol
