fixed.
-
you should have posted the news here first archie. evilbore exclusivo
anyway lame, we knew it was coming
-
yeah and i dunno why they are revealing it on the xbox marketplace, isn't capcom all multi now?
-
Ps3 version of Lost Planet was terrible. In every aspect a downgrade of the X360 version.
Saying that, I still haven't finished the game. Got bored with it pretty quickly.
-
Where did you watch the trailer? I can't find it. Waiting for Blimblim's upload. :-\
-
on the US mp I get an error when I try to download the 'top secret' trailer, says it's no longer available. guess we'll have to wait for the gamersyde link

i can't decide which was worse
dead rising
or lost planet
both are pretty bad.
hmm
well i actually was able to get more than a few hours into Lost Planet so I guess that means Dead Rising is worse.
regardless. YAWN YAWN YAWN shit sequel to shitty game.
-
it was pretty obvious
the trailer is actually pretty cool. Co-op seems like it's going to be great.
-
Coop is hilarious.
It's the closest game design comes to science.
If you add coop, you make the game at least twice as fun.
-
Get the fuck out of here, RIGHT NOW.
yeah it's not a popular opinion and i was surprised myself at how much i disliked both games.

both were better than mgs4
anyways the graphics in the trailer are shit hot. seems like capcom is the only japanese dev able to handle hd consoles.
-
So Lost Planet is a co-op, possibly class based, squad shooter now? fine by me, the first game was good but disappointing.

What? I'll give you Lost Planet 'cause I agree it wasn't that good but Dead Rising was/is freakin' brilliant, especially when the first 72hrs are up and the game goes into overtime mode. If you haven't even gotten a few hours into Dead Rising then you haven't played Dead Rising.
both were better than mgs4
By a fucking mile.
I never got into Lost Planet but the trailer looks incredible - that engine of theirs is pretty damn amazing. The guy said they listened to a bunch of people's complaints before they went into LP2 so hopefully they fixed a lot the stuff from the first one, like getting rid of the slowly depleting energy...I hated that. Cautiously optimistic about this one.

2009 Year of Capcom

2009 Year of Capcom
RE5
SFIV
Dead Rising 2
Lost Planet 2
unnamed capcom game
FRAWRESS VICTOLY!
-
Dead Rising 2 graphically looks absolute dogshit compared to this.
-
Visually amazing, and looks like it Capcom is cranking up the epic to Starship Troopers level.
Unfortunately, it looks like such a different game from the 1st, i mean it's basically a war game now, you no longer play one main character, but various, which is really really lame, because that's just short for "We are making a MP game, but you can play SP with bots", basically like the battlefront games and whatever.
So yeah, great visuals Capcom, but don't count me in, i didn't like LP online, so i'm not interested.
-
I really didn't enjoy Lost Planet after the first few missions, but I will give this game a chance. That trailer was awesome.
-
Will there be a Wii port?
-
i hope they get rid of the juggling animation. that shit was really annoying
Dead Rising 2 graphically looks absolute dogshit compared to this.
aside from the teaser and a few screens has there been any other media for dr2?
-
i can tell just from the screenshots, i'm that awesome.
-
Man, Capcom is seriously the developer of forever.
How is the first Lost Planet? Haven't got a chance to play it.

It's got a great motion blur effect along with some mech stuff and....uh....hmmm.....that's about it. LP was pretty disappointing, imo.
LP2 looks like a step in the right direction though.
-
I played the demo and got some pleasure out of it. I'll try it out some day.
-
I enjoyed Lost Planet, but the demo is the high points you will have for the game. There are a lot of low points there.
-
lost planet mp was a ton of fun. the sp isn't all that great tho
-
If they fix that staggering bullshit I'll be there.
-
Trailer looks cool. Never got around to playing the first, but I'll grab this when it comes out.
-
So, is this mulitiplatform?
-
I wanted it to be either a new Monster Hunter or MH3 port for the epic butthurt.
-
So, is this mulitiplatform?
If you follow the famitsu comment then yes (with 360 getting some extra stuff?) else..

Platforms and other details will be announced at a later date. There's still a LONG ways to go on this title (I know that's hard to believe as good as it looks today, but it's not shipping for a good while).
So take what you will
-
Well, he did include Microsoft in the opening speech.
Anyway, this looks a lot like Gears with more fantastical monsters, although I doubt it will be anywhere near as good.
-
Eh, was a little disappointed by the trailer. Animation/movement still looks clunky as hell. The LP1 motion blur looks kinda dated now. 4p squad is an upgrade for those online gamers out there, but possibly a downgrade IF you play your games SP and now have shitty AI friends like RE5.
Otoh, the monster fight at the end looks like a lot of fun if you have 3 other human friends who play X360 online and are available at the same time you are to play together.
/yes I am bitter about Japanese companies pushing online gaming since I never seem to have anyone to play online with at the times I play games. I still haven't tried Horde mode in Gears 2 :\
-
So the Japanese are developing Lost Planet 2, while Canada is doing Dead Rising 2. Lame. I'd rather it be the opposite

Would make sense since LP is trying to be Western TPS and DR is trying to be wacky/jappy sandbox game. But alas...
-
Why is there no mention of Wayne? Why is the planet frozen, I thought he thawed it? Fuck these sequels if you arent even gonna mention the lead from the first one.
-
Videogame storylines lol
-
looks pretty great to me, fun and better looking
the story in lost planet 1 was a disaster, who cares?
-
I won't be bothering with this if there is no mention of Wayne. The same applies for Dead Rising 2. I can't deal with inconsistency.
-
I can't believe that anyone actually has the attention span to follow the atrocious story in Lost Planet
-
stfu demi, you'll play it for the achievements and you know it.
-
That sounds like a challenge. What are you willing to bet?
-
What, that you won't play DR2 or LP2? Yeah right.
-
I made myself clear. If there is no mention of Frank or Wayne in either sequel, I will not play them.
My bet to you is, if this is to happen, what are you willing to wager that I in fact, will not play these games?
-
Cajole's virginity? You have to do the deed, tho.
-
Well clearly you aren't serious about it, so I will disregard whatever you say.
-
I didn't watch the video, but there's all these pictures of the planet in a jungle setting. Is that multiplayer-only?
And if the focus is on the pirates, maybe the story mode is a prequel?
I made myself clear. If there is no mention of Frank or Wayne in either sequel, I will not play them.
It's kind of par for the course for Capcom to put in new characters in their action/adventure games. Resident Evil did it, Onimusha did it, and now it looks like those two games are going to be following that trend.
-
A Prequel could only work if the story brought mention to Wayne's father and the omgwtf anime mech
-
I don't think they wanted to spend the money for the likeness of the Korean guy. That's why they dropped Sam in Onimusha 4.
I mean really, did anyone buy LP because the lead was a famous Korean actor?
-
This game looks bloody beautiful.
In the video the guy says it's a sequel, that the planet thawed out and new environments have grown. Should make for some more variety.
Anyway, it looks like they're putting a lot of work into the multiplayer, which is where the real game is. Can't wait, I loved the multiplayer in LP.
-
Just what the 360 needs... some of the monsters look cool and fucked up at least. Wanted this to be a Megaman Legends 3 announcement. :teehee
-

That's a little odd. I mean considering that dude was in Onimusha 4. It seemed pretty logical to move to another lead that way you could get an entire trilogy outta that guys story. I'm Really unsure why there hasn't been an Onimusha 5. I guess they need something besides DMC5 for 2010...or it might be coming out this year after all.
I want Sengoku Basara 3 and Onimusha 5.
-
As awesome as Onimusha 5 would be, I really want Sengoku Basara 3. It's a much better series than Dynasty Warriors.
-
Why did they go Korean anyway?
I think its because roundabout when Lost Planet was in development Korean entertainment, movies, dramas, and music, was exploding in popularity across Asia, Japan as well. By the time the game came out the fad was waning. It might have been a good bet that Lee Byung-Hun would have been a bigger international name in the years to come back in 2004-05 when they were making Lost Planet.
He still might, he's scored some english language roles that are going to get him some wider exposure, and he's been in some very good and very popular Korean films, and everybody who's alive and of good taste should see A Bittersweet Life, because its fecking awesome.
Christophe Gans is making a French adventure movie last I heard. (http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/gans-and-cassel-reunite-for-the-swedish-cavalier/) Who knows when Onimusha might happen?
