Title: Condemned 2 or Silent Hill Homecoming?
Post by: siamesedreamer on February 24, 2009, 12:26:08 PM: I want a horror game on the cheap (too poor for FEAR 2 :'( ). Metacritic has C2 at +10 on SHH. C2 is also $10 cheaper. Plus I really dug the first Condemned.

Also consider achievement difficulty.

Any other cheap recommendations?

If you are paying less than $20, and you can ignore all of the garbage and just enjoy the brief sessions of hobo punching, then go for it. Anything more than $20, or if you are easily frustrated by absolutely terrible stretches that don't belong in a hobo beating simulator, stay away.

That doesn't mean much, really. I loved Condemned for its atmosphere and its brand of horror, but Condemned 2 just felt goofy. The combo system didn't help.

Condemned 2 is shit, and has multiplayer (good luck finding people)
