Title: 2G2D has affected me!

So yesterday I had my yearly review with my company. I scored well in everything, but my boss told me that she recently got a notice saying that all raises will be capped at 2.5% instead of the original 5%, due to the economy. Basically that means my raise was cut in half. THAT'S BULLSHIT!

Also, why is it that raises are percent based? That makes no sense! That means the person who makes the least amount of money will always get the smallest raise or bonus! How unfair is that?!

Pretty much, some of my friends had to take PAY CUTS to keep their jobs.  They basically said "everyone can take a 3% cut in pay or we can fire a couple of people, your call".

At least you have a job. You could be a dirty poor like me, who cant get unemployment cause of my past employer fucking up. I am sorry they cut your raise though dude. I know it doesn't make these tough times any easier but just be thankful you have a job at the end of the day.

There are a lot of people in this economy who would love their problem to be that their raise is not enough. Your problem is well nothing to the 500-600k people who are losing their job every month sir.

Hey, at least you're employed.  Same thing happened to me on my yearly review.  You are not alone in this.

Nah, I gave out an average of 2% this year.
Although some people got 4%, some nothing.
