You always owe when you are an independent person. 1099 for life, son
Getting back money you should have had in the first place = fail

self-employment tax, your punishment for not kneeling before the man

A friend of mine worked for three companies last year. One he worked for for the majority of the year, but then everyone got laid off in August and got awesome severance packages. So he took another job with a game developer in Canada working from here in Seattle. The group was dissolved before he started, but they still gave him three months severance. Then he took another job before the end of the year with a local game developer. There was a period of time where he had three incomes at the same time and one of them was from another country.
I hope he finds a good accountant!

Yeah, freelancing kind of sucks in that regard. Oh well, glad I've still got some savings in the bank.

I haven't sent it because I'm lazy. Also because as soon as I do something will break/come up causing me to spend roughly the amount I just paid on taxes on some bs thing like my car or maybe my basset hound will eat my 360 controller and I'll have to pay for emergency surgery or something stupid like that.
-
i just hold my breath and cross all my fingers and toes for a couple of months until i can build some money back up
-
I'll still have plenty of money in savings, but as soon as I send it off something is GUARANTEED to happen. Probably to the car; I could take it in for a tune-up and maintenance the day before I send off my taxes and something will still probably fall apart on it, because God likes to fuck with me like that.

If i owed, that bad boy wouldn't be filed until April 15.

i've filed and got $2400 back. only $6000 left until i can afford my surgery. 8)
