Besides how cheesy it looks, Gambit looking specially stupid, FOX has found a way of ruining Deadpool.
Deadpool now has claws coming out of his arms, has some war paint or whatever on his body, has his mouth covered, and shoots laser beams out of his eyes.
It's just so brilliant.
-
When is the last time Fox (not fox searchlight) released a good movie? I can't think of any.
-
comic book movies, lol
-
Deadpool looks like a zombie, has Barraca spears and shoots lasers out of his eyes. Its like someone at Fox wanted to push as many geek buttons as possible.
-
it's like they went down a checklist of things that Deadpool is and did the opposite.
Wears a suit? Lets make him shirtless!
Wise cracking? STITCH THAT BITCHES MOUTH SHUT!
-
apparently that guy at the end isn't deadpool
-
Laser eyes man is Cyclops.

I didn't see a single movie on that list. Kinda wanted to see Australia because of Baz, but never got around to it.

What's your point?
The point is that the guy at the end is deadpool. How the hell did you miss it?

Just read some more about this at GAF, I guess they're making Deadpool into Weapon XI.
GREAT JON, FOX. GREAT JON.
Also, seeing how this is a comic related thread, I just got this email from a good friend of mine:
There are some days where I love my job. I just spent the last 45 min with 6 other people discussing exactly how much Spiderman and the Hulk could lift, and whether or not Hulk can lift more than Thor.
-
I have to give fox some credit, it takes some real talent to ruin something like deadpool and to make a bad wolverine movie.
also hulk can lift more than thor.
-
also hulk can lift more than thor.
Yeah, that's what he said.
Thor can lift more. Thor has divine power. Hulk is bound by laws of science.
Actually, the Marvel consensus is that Hulk can lift more than Thor if he gets mad enough.
Science is no match for HULK ANGRY!!!!!
-
yeah, hulk's anger is his driving force
some people post to gaf, some people start hardcore bands, hulk just smashes like it's greece

The guy who directed Wolverine also made Rendition, which was really, really bad. Squandered a great cast and subject and somehow made torture seem boring.
When is the last time Fox (not fox searchlight) released a good movie? I can't think of any.
They put out Europa Corp's Taken with Liam Neeson, which they edited down to a PG-13.

Hahaha wtf! that movie came out a couple of months over here with a glorious R rating, I'm glad that the movie theathers around here don't depend exclusivly on american distributors.

Remember this?

Congrats on coming around, Wrika. Maybe someday you can join the superior taste brigade.
-
It won't be a great, or even good movie, but I didn't really get a completely lol awful vibe from the trailer.

City of Ember is really underappreciated. It was an epic bomb at the box office and critics ripped it apart, but I really enjoyed it. Aside from being a bit inconsistent and rushed at times, it was a good adventure movie.
-
comic book movies, lol
:D
-
He's like Kratos and Baraka's buttbaby.
-
i have no faith in this. i really loved X2 and was hoping it was a sign of future x-men movies, but X3 blew and this looks like it will too.
it would've been pretty hard to make Deadpool cool in a movie. while i love him, his humor is pretty nerdy. much of it is self-aware and plays off making fun of comic conventions

I think a legitimate parody movie of superhero films staring an actual superhero could work. Hell, I'd settle for an action movie with heavy sarcasm and jokes specifically for us fans. But what I see here... it isn't fucking right at all. Out of all the people nobody really cares about, Deadpool had to become Weapon XI? It couldn't have been Will.I.Am or shit a entirely different character?
I was willing to live with him being shown as a normal person because it was still Ryan Reynolds and at the end he could of had his transition but shit. I seriously hope it's all misinformation and that they toy isn't real and someone playing a really shitty joke or I'll have to pull my first legitimate boycott ever.
i agree, i just said it would be hard. to make a character like Deadpool appealing to a normal audience.
and don't get me wrong, i think what they made him is an abomination. it really pisses me off when they put a character, in name-only, in a film just to draw fans.
-
To be fair, it's not like comic books have integrity...they get retconned and re-imagined all the time.
-
the best part is that when Deadpool becomes Baraka, he becomes a mute lol
-
It's as if Fox looked at X Men 3 and said "We can do we worse, we aren't trying hard enough!"
-
Can't wait for the part to come and people be like. "Why are they calling him deadpool? It's not even the same guy".
Fox magic
-
So, this is how Deadpool works in the movie according to the news:
• Ryan Reynolds shows up for 10 minutes in the beginning of the film. He’s part of Stryker’s team, and his mutant ability is mostly being a badass with swords, cutting bullets and the like. He is called Wade Wilson during this period.
• Stryker’s big plan (or one of ‘em) is to make Weapon XI, a mutant with a shit-ton of mutant powers.
• Stryker uses Wilson’s body as the mutant power receptacle, and because of the scarring (I’m not sure whether that’s from a previous fight, or as a result of all the mutant powers getting packed into him), Weapon XI is played by Scott Adkins. Weapon XI appears for about ten minutes near the film’s end, and has the claws seen above (a la Wolverine), Cyclops’ optic blast, Wraith’s teleportation ability, and Wolverine’s healing
factor, too. Also, his mouth is indeed sewn shut.
Yikes
-
And they cover his mouth because he doesn't shut up. I still don't understand how they plan to get away with a different actor.
-
How are they going to do the pronunciations?
I always assumed Weapon X was Weapon-"Ex" not Weapon-10, but I doubt they'll call Weapon-XI Weapon-"Ex-Eye". But calling Wolverine Weapon-"Ex" then calling Deadpool Weapon-11 is going to be a connection lost of most of the viewers dumb enough to see this shit.
-
The Deadpool thing is incredibly fucking sad.
-
It's almost like they knew it could be potentially awesome, but realized that they were in no way competent enough to make it awesome, so just zipped his mouth shut. Ah well
-
i don't even like deadpool and i'm sad for you all
maybe this guy is Agent X.

How is it possible to not like Deadpool?
I think the executives at fox are demons that feed on nerd rage.
