Title: I'm concerned about my laptop

My laptop, an XPS 1330, just froze and the screen turned into a shimmering pink and green pattern with some white font. I took the battery out and restated it; the laptop seems to be fine now. Would anyone know what the pattern on my screen would indicate? HDD problem? CPU problem? HIV?

Finals are a month away and I need my laptop.

HDD wouldn't do that.  sounds like a GPU thing.  I'd start backing shit up though.

if yer gpu is an 8400m, yer fucked. that whole 8X000M series of gpus had a recall last year.

Quite possible.  Just look at what it did to his life!  I've never heard a more corrosive thing than his music.

My laptop crapped out about a week ago and I'm waiting on a new one to get shipped to me. :'(

ON board graphics should already be your primary display.
