What a great ending.
So Starbuck was an angel then as was head-six and head-baltar?
why's that?
the final scene was a head scratcher.
why's that?
He is acting weird.
He is acting weird. He is angry that there is religion in it because he hates religion. He is acting like a baby who never watched the show before. God has always been a major element of BSG.
First half awesome.
Second half awful.spoiler (click to show/hide)The answer to all unanswered questions, logical plot holes, and unresolved issues: God did it! If you enjoyed or were interested in the actual plotting of the show, it's a pretty big slap in the face. I guess Ron Moore and the writers lost interest in the plotting themselves though.[close]
First half awesome. The series since day one with the mini-series in 2003 implied there was a God who had a plan for them and guided them on a path.

I thought the ending was brilliant and absolutely beautiful, if not extremely sad.spoiler (click to show/hide)Poor Lee, he finally has the chance to be with Kara, and she's already dead.[close]
Fuck Amirox, God has been a huge part of this show since day one, he must have been busy beating his mom and doing drugs whenever it's been brought up.
All in all the series is awesome. But I still think B5 is the superior of the 2.Word, despite how good BSG acting & characters are, it dosen't come close to the EPIC planned-out plot B5 has.
That was pretty rad. Good jon, Ron Moore.
Anyone feel it was kind of sad that a lot of the characters make it to Earth, only to lose their loved ones, humanity, etc.
I mean. Did you ever read a philosophy text? That's how most of them end: GOD DID IT.I wasn't aware that BSG was a philosophy text - I just wanted some entertaining genre fiction....a good yarn that doesn't have such a tacked on ending.
Extremely sad. We had eight friends over last night, and there was not a dry eye in the house once they made it to Earth.

Tyrol lives out his life all alone. Adama loses Roslin, lives out his life alone. Lee loses Kara, lives out his life alone. Baltar became the thing he hated - a farmer. Kind of depressing, really.
especially considering one of the final lines of the show. "You know it doesn't like to be called that"
Border, how do you get the idea that the finale expressly pushed "GOD did it" as an explanation? That's as disingenuous as Intelligent Design supporters who claim it's okay to teach their theory in public schools because ID does not specify a deity as "Creator". Yes, GOD itself is never specified explicitly but given the capabilities that this ethereal force wields there aren't many other options to chose from.
If they don’t find the charred Earth first, then Dualla doesn’t kill herself, which means Gaeta probably doesn’t launch the coup, which means Anders doesn’t get shot in the head and turned into a Hybrid, which means Galactica can’t find or reasonably fight Cavil’s forces, which means Kara’s not placed in a position where she has to jump the ship based on nothing but the notes to “All Along the Watchtower,” which means they don’t get to the good Earth.
Yup.I don't know then, the whole divine intervention through visions and 'angels' and prophecy I guess I can take, God manufacturing a whole other earth for them (or did they just travel back in time to the nuked earth pre-nuked) is more then I'd prefer.
Yup.
Yup.
Umm, what? I don't recall them showing continent shapes of charred Earth from space.
