I think I just ruined a pair of pants.
This is also hinting at what we can expect from Crysis 2.
-
looks cool.
what was that one tech demo...the one with all the balloons in the streets?
-
It looks just like Crysis.
-
Looks awesome.
-
I dont want Crysis. It sucks
-
Looks like gears 2.
You should see REAL LIFE ENGINE. You can get a demo by GOING OUTSIDE
-
It's just as disappointing as CryEngine 3. Your point?
-
looks like crysis running on medium lawl
-
the Special Olympics version of Crysis :yawn
now watch this: http://www.eurogamer.pt/videos/need-for-speed-shift-primeiro-trailer
while Actishit ruins the best racing series by stealing Bizarre, EA is pumping out an awesome looking NFS. EA :bow2
-
Crysis demo looks like Crysis outdoors and UE3.0 in the city, meh. At least they'll get Crysis running on consoles now.
Need for Speed looks good but cockpit view always makes everything look good. Also at the end of the day it's still NFS :-\ Even if the Activision/Bizarre racer is a sellout it'll still play AWESOME and look AWESOME because it's Bizarre.
-
That's supposed to be impressive? pfff
-
Meh. Guns, and stuff.
-
Did the even use the ce2 for a game other than Crysis?
-
Nope.
I think CE3 is really good, but IDTech5 is better for large environments.
-
Blah,blah,blah teh superiority...yes we know.
Make a game with it,you cunts.
CryEngine 3 is a vastly improved iteration of CE2, smart people say so.
-
yeah, CE3 according to a crytek guy on B3D has a lot of massive improvements to it that does warrant a whole, full new number. I'm guessing that it's just running on the lowest settings and is mainly targeting for the next generation of consoles.
-
They should call it something other than Cryengine. They may even get a licensee or two.
-
Eurogamer has a CryEngine 3 technical breakdown,
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/gdc-cryengine-3-the-technical-breakdown
Teh demo runs at average 25.5 fps...... :lol
-
Teh demo runs at average 25.5 fps...... :lol
That's decent considering the engine is still in development and a lot of console games this gen don't do more than 30.
-
Yeah. That's close enough that any decent developer could adjust their game to get 30fps, which is what everyone is doing for consoles.

Video interview,Cervat Yerli
CE3 360 demo played on Vizio
HD versions
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/47412.html
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/47410.html
Some small tidbits...
CE2-lets make an engine and then find hardware to run it
CE3-hardware known, engine must run on it
In the second part of the interview he sounds more like Carmack when he talks about multiplatform development.
He mentions "next-gen" machines as one of the CE3 targets...
Looks amazing,etc,etc
But for me,vaporware status is still on :P
Until some games are delivered on it...
-
It was only announced three weeks ago and it's already achieved vaporware status?
-
Well,CE3 engine is "just" an improved version of CE2.
And generally "it" was pimped to devs for quite some time, there were even rumblings about it being demoed on consoles last year...the result is one MMORPG in the making, outside of Crytek
In the end this is all about middleware business and i just don't see people ditching their custom engines or UE3 after all the troubles, pain, money spent on it.
I have a feeling that we are not going too see much of CE3 this gen, unless there are some secret games that have been in the making for at least a year.
I could be wrong, maybe there will be tons of games for it at E3...
