It's not announced because it's not playable yet. It was on certain lists available to certain folks, though!

It has not been publically announced, but it is in the works behind closed doors. Do not be surprised if you hear more about it closer to the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Personally, I feel they're going about it the wrong way, since the DS has the larger user base. Put Smash Bros. on there first, get people hooked, promise extra crap if you connect with the Wii version and people will buy a Wii/Brawl. I am not sure if there will be the incentive if they do it vice versa.
Oh well, I don't run Nintendo.

There's nothing to announce other than it exists. Nobody knows anything other than that there is a Smash Bros. slated for DS.
I'm sure Craig Harris from IGN knows more about it than I do!

Someone please explain this picture ??? Someone linked it through an IRC channel...didn't think it was real until I saw this topic... Take it for what you will I'm still skeptical about a smash bros game for DS.

Nintendo knew SSBM was their best selling game for the GC, yet didn't get started til LAST OCTOBER. Same with Mario Galaxy, their second biggest game right now. So forgive me if I don't believe you, Will. :/
