So how many of these actually turn out to give people a good chance at attaining a position? Or is it just too much of a hassle?

You should probably be more specific. Well known conglomerates routinely offer internships. Some will hire interns who show skill and determination while others just enjoy the free (or cheap) labor and hire known quantities.

Okay, the one I'm talking about is a paying one. I was wondering how much emphasis they put on grades. Compared to a well composed CV, and common enthusiasm. Since, I probably don't have the best grades in my year, there's always someone with better grades right.
So yeah, what's the chances actually?

Your chances of getting the position shouldn't stop you from applying, anyway, so what difference does it make? Just don't put all your eggs in one basket.
-
That's true. I've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. fuck it.

Hire an assassin to kill you when you don't land the internship.

oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
