God, that librarian is SO FUCKING HOTTTT

Actually, I did this three years ago.

I want to join an 80's cover band
Well, this got me dancing. And at my age that takes a lot. I have to make my first 'new' post about something, so here it is. Check out these vids from a 'forgotten' band from the eighties. Tears For Fears. There aren't a lot of 80's bands I'd pay $20 to see, this is one for sure. Somehow I doubt they sound as good live as they do on their recordings, so save your cash and hit these links for your fix. How can a band with three solid songs like this just disappear? Was it doing the soundtrack to a forgotten movie 'The Big Chair'? Was it the falsetto that was already old by the time Tears for Fears hit the airwaves (think Bee Gees people)? Was it the hairstyles which I am still jealous of even though they would look ridiculous in our time?

I'm not sure what it was, but if any band encompassed the 80's sound, this was them. Check them out, relive the vids you thought were badass back in the day. Leave some love, and let's laugh at the guy shouting falsetto at the librarian together. I will be back with more coherent thoughts one day, give me some time and I'll get comfortable with this whole thing. Whether or not anyone reads it is another story.

Head over Heels, great song, better video :)

Everybody wants to rule the world, song hasn't aged that well in my opinion

Shout, the classic everyone knows but only a select few geezers know who wrote it

For extra credit: Which Tears member is hotter? The one with the killer hair and falsetto, or the one with the killer cheekbones riding the other guy's coattails? I guess I gave away my preference. I want the hair guy to join up with Darryl Hall and the geeky guy from Simple Minds (Don't You, forget about me) to join up for the ultimate 80's tour. I'd seriously drop $50 to see those bastards in a concert together, provided they didn't sing any music written after 1988.

80's Pet Shop Boys >> 80's Tears for Fears

I'd be willing to slap fight over this.

I agree with Toxic. Tears has a couple of really stand out songs but Pet Shop Boys sound is good across the board.

Toxic and Blue clearly go to a level of faggotry that I can't compete with.

Regardless of overall discography, Tears wrote at least 3, maybe 4 songs that Pet Shop Boys can't compete with.
