Title: Does anyone download the Adam Corolla podcast?
Post by: ToxicAdam on March 30, 2009, 02:57:50 PM

I'm not a big podcast guy, but I downloaded his show today (3/30) and it's friggin funny as hell. He has this deaf frat guy as a guest today and he does some funny rants about losing your virginity, vintage porn and Africa. Give it a shot, I think you will love it.

He has some interesting guests. I tossed it in the Zune, will probably listen to it around the airport.

Deaf Frat Guy was part of the radio show a couple years ago before I got sick of him. Is this what he does now that his radio show got canceled?

Yep.  His radio show was canceled just a few weeks back.  I kinda liked his radio show as mindless morning radio talk show bullshit, but not enough that I'd ever DL a podcast.

I thought he was great on Love Line, but a show that revolves around him got to be too much. My mornings are spent listening to NPR and Sports Radio.

I just listened to his show with Jimmy Kimmel. It was really great.

I agree with some people that "too much" of him can be too much. But these hour shows and a liberal dosage of guests seem to be a good way to water him down a bit. I was never in an area that received his morning talk show, so maybe I'm just not burned out on him yet.

It's available for free on Itunes too, if you are so inclined.

Listen every day (listening right now in fact). Love it. Although I dislike his politics, I love his non-PC rants anyway. He doesn't take it too seriously himself either (he contradicts himself all the time) and it's usually funny even when it's being obnoxious. He also has a great 'shooting from the hip' vibe going that makes it easy to forgive any transgressions. He's just being himself, on radio.

Adam's not the greatest comedian on the planet or anything, but he has a certain gift for improvising stuff that has a written quality to it. He can structure a whole piece on the spot that sounds like he prepared it in advance. He doesn't waste your time with the ums and ahs. A great example of this is the recent one where he was given the cue 'short-order chef' and he practically has to be tied down midway through the ensuing spontaneous rant.

The guests are generally good too. There have only been 2 or 3 clunkers so far. Dana Gould and Kimmel stand out.

I think the Aisha Tyler (hot black chick from Talk Soup) has been the best one so far. Talking about ridiculous 80's shows and growing up hungry had me in tears.

I have started using the 'That's enough of your jibber-jabber' line, I confess :)

I'll give it a shot. I liked his radio show, but the podcast divided everything into tiny, tiny pieces of the whole, and my MP3 player doesn't handle podcasts as playlists, only as single play-throughs.

I liked Adam when he was on Loveline with Dr. Drew. I used to like Dr. Drew, but the man just seems unnecessarily unaccepting of behavior not centered on the societal mean.

I'm listening to this regularly and I'm growing tired of his constant yelling.
There's a lot of "greatest nation in the world" talk going on too, which I think is more irksome to a European.
