Title: What are you playing? (First weekend of April)
Post by: Rman on April 03, 2009, 03:50:08 PM
I'm back to SF4, finishing some hard trials and playing some ranked matches.  I will also try to unlock some of the stuff in RE5 and play some BK: Nuts and Bolts.

A bit of Halo Wars, finishing up MGS3, and started up God of War 2 for the first time after playing the other two games in the series (each in like one sitting, hah). GoW2 is so so good so far.

It's a fighting game week for me.

Street Fighter IV- Starting to work on Rufus and Gouken now.

King of the Fighters Collection- Going through the games one by one. Right now I'm on '95.

Street Fighter III 3rd Strike- Just today I realized that my Street Fighter Anv. Collection works perfectly on my 360. Now that I have a joystick I'm going to be putting some time into this. Never had the opportunity to learn this game due to the timing of its release. Maybe I should start a tournament for it.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2- Finally found a way to get my joysticks recognized by the Dreamcast emulator. This used to be my party game for when friends come over but stopped after a while. Now I'm trying to make an effort to bring it back.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup- One of the best games to play during my downtime at work.

Fallout 3- Really liking my travels through the Wasteland despite it being full of weird glitches.  It seems like every five minutes I come across something like a floating weapon, vibrating body, a random falling corpse, or an enemy stuck in a wall.

Riddick on 360

finished Butcher Bay just now and it's still awesome.  Gonna do that Dark Athena one now that hopefully doesn't suck.

I'm going for the 50th star in mirror's edge but I'm still in a platforming mood so I might go back into Mario Galaxy.

Also have some Mass Effect achievements I'm going for.

I own the Madcatz TE Stick and I have a friend that brings over his Hori Ex2 stick.

My friend is bringing over SF4 tomorrow so I'll be trying that for the first time.

I might also pick up RE4 or spend more time on WOW.

Picking up my gamecube from tehjaybo's house and playing some Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.  Either that or wind waker.  I'm in a zelda mood, and haven't been able to play for a while.

Nice.  Does the TE live up to is reputation?  How were you able to find one?

Resident Evil 5 - Two more achievements to go and some stages/characters to unlock in Mercenaries.

NBA Street Homecourt - I started playing this again. One more tournament to go and I should be done with it. I'm going for all the non-online achievements.

These two won't take long to finish, so I'll probably go back to Mass Effect or some other game once I'm done.

It works really well. I'm able to pull off moves with no problem and the stick itself is quite sturdy. I guess the only gripes could be the overly sensitive buttons (which I've learned to get used to) and the square gate (which I thought I was going to hate but actually ended up liking it alot). I've used it nonstop since I got it when SFIV came out and it hasn't broken yet. Also from what I've tested with the Hori EX2 it seems to work pretty well too. Didn't have any issues pulling off moves with that.

How were you able to find one?
I was able to get one by preordering it through *gasp* Gamestop.

Riddick on 360

If DA sucks, is Riddick 360 worth buying for the remake of BB alone if you already have BB on Xbox?  How different is it?

Someone said that BB is just the Xbox game in HD.  If that's true, then just get the PC version.  The PC version with maxed out settings looks much better than the original Xbox game and it even has some extra levels.

Switched from Fable 2 to Banjo. I think I'm reaching the end of Fable 2, but I don't have much desire to keep playing now that I've seen all the surprisingly samey environments.

I really wish I knew someone who had a Wii. I've had this stupid need to play Super Mario Galaxy for weeks now, but I know I'd be kicking myself if I bought another Wii.

pretty much that.  It's the same awesome game on the 360 now.

Dark Athena is kinda boring so far.  Not bad, not really great either.

I've almost 1000'd RE5 and just can't bring myself to fuck around with it, honestly.  I have a big stack of old games that I haven't played and just can't bring myself to get into.  Been playing lots of Magic on MWS.

Street Fighter IV - Playing time trials and survival challenges mostly.

Retro Game Challenge - Final challenge, working through beating all of the games. I just want to be done with it at this point

Crystal Defenders - Just discovered this game. I don't even really like tower defense games, and I guess this is a pretty stripped down TD game in particular, but hell, I feel like I want to buy it.

Skate 2 - May arrive today from Gamefly.

Logged into EQ2 yesterday, and went to the EQ2 version of Kelethin for the first time. Music brought back memories of falling off the original city:

Finished Fable 2, pretty but boring. I honestly got more out of Star Wars TFU for the 2 hours that game felt relevant.

Started up Tools of Destruction again, trying to max out all weapons. It's also a lot easier to die during the second run, which is probably what the game should have been like from the start, as it forces you to use the more tactical weapons in the game.

just finished up a replay of Code Veronica and found it just as tedious as i had remembered.  it's nice that they tried to give it an epic scope but the CONSTANT backtracking along with the forced replay of the two areas mdae me tired of the game long before it was over.  also steve and the twins' voice acting is even shittier than anything in RE1 and i hate listening to them.  on the other hand the last boss is a zomie fly/woman emerging from a giant zombie vagina, so that's pretty cool.

next up is a new game of brave fencer musashi!  pretty excited to play it because i haven't really touched it since it came out.  i hope it's as fun as remember.

Playing World Destruction.  It's kind of dull and anime but Maaya Sakamoto has a cute voice even when it's distorted down to lq samples.  Dunno if I'll stick with it or just play for a little before going back to the fuck awesome Devil Survivor (R&D1  :bow :bow2).

Got to the 3rd stage of Cave Story psp, but I'm bailing on that until I restart it on the PC or Wii where it doesn't strain my eyes.
