So why don't we have a periodical Desktop thread?  I searched and couldn't really find anything recent. It's a great way to exchange apps and style. So EB, let's do this!

Ever heard of spotlight, Drewsy?  Or Quicksilver?  That's a much more elegant solution than a desktop full of shortcuts and folders.
