It's garbage.

They decided to keep all the annoying nuances of the "original" (not the original) Japanese Spelunker

Tried to play online, no rooms found.
Tried to create my own and play, no one joined.

That game looks pretty tight. Reminds me of that old game I remember playing - Montezuma's Revenge

Montezuma's Revenge was amazing.  I could beat the first temple no problem but never beat the second one.

Spelunker is not nearly as good.  Why that crap is popular in this country I'll never understand.

if you're in Japan, it's popular because it's legendarily shitty.  It started that whole genre of old shovelware "shit games" (I forget the japanese word for it.)
