Jack diagnosed with lethal pathogen in previous episode - has very little time to live. I'm thinking, "Yay! They're going to finally kill off Jack!"
... then we're told that there's an experimental stem cell cure that requires family members (his stupid daughter). :lol
Oh God. :lol
-
but he said no

STEM CELLS WILL SAVE US ALL
REPUBLICAN PORN THIS AINT
-
i think you're missing something else.
Naomi just gave Snake a suppressant for the disease that's killing him.
-
Great season. Didn't read the OP since the episode's not on hulu yet...but this season has been great. Last few episodes omg
-
At least Jon Voight smashed that dude's face in! :lol
My brother and I have been quoting Voight-isms from 24 for the past couple of weeks.
"LETS PLAY SOME DARTS!" is my favorite.
-
don't forget to pack your tooth brush
-
Actually, the whole quote is even better:
"Get your pajamas and toothbrushes cause it’s going to be a long night!"
-
:lol
It's kinda fun having a villain who's not another serious, reserved asshole. Voight - and Dubaku - before him, is just fun
Willco tho, what do you think of the last few episodes?
-
JV should have been like "Oh yeah I forgot one more missile Madame President!"
then put the camera down his pants.
-
Dubaku was awful. I was so glad when they ditched him.
I think this season is an unintentional comedy. Voight is so over-the-top that 24 has transcended from crazy action hour to ridiculous fan fiction comedy hour.
-
Another crap season confirmed.
"OK Kim, we're ready to go in the medical facility 300 meters ahead of you to the right. Satellite shows one, maybe two cougars in the area. You're going to have to make a break for it!"
-
I always joked that there would be an entire 24 season b-plot dedicated to Kim getting her hand stuck in a vending machine.
OH NO MY HAND IS STUCK IN THE VENDING MACHINE!
WERE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!!

I played 24 pinball today. Better plot than S4+.

Goddamnit. I've been forgetting to watch... Hmh. I'll
pirate purchase on Blu-Ray when it comes out.
-
I used to be an enormous 24 apologist, but I skipped this season entirely. Same shit, diff day, yo.

Your missing out imo, this is the best season since s3. ;) compared to 4-6 there hasn't been a episode i haven't loved, though this latest one may be a exception.
-
I have the television on on Mondays from 9-10pm, but to say that I'm watching 24 this season would be an overstatement.
Too hard to care about anything going on. Same shit, different day indeed. The White House invasion was probably the worst part. That and the re-use of the "Jack forced to shoot 'good' female character, but really doesn't kill her" thing from season 1.

Brannon Braga

Brannon Braga
Truth.
I keep forgetting he's one of the guys in charge of 24 now.

24 should have mystical islands and time traveling shit

The season isn't over yet! Just wait until the experimental stem cell cure will make Jack de-evolve!
-
I'm getting caught up with the season today on the DVR...
Bill :usacry

Eh, alright episode considering Jack was sidelined. Tony was great. Can't say I'm thrilled about the inevitable return of Kim.
Hodges :lol :bow
Overall S7 has been pretty damn solid.

Overall S7 has been pretty damn solid.
This can be added to other Maurice-isms, such as
"Cher has some classics"
"Human Clay is a masterpiece"
"Forrest Gump is the pinnacle of modern film making"
"WoW is a game"
-
Maurice is like the arbiter in awful pop culture.

Maurice is like the arbiter in awful pop culture.
Or like I said in a previous thread, he's like the Mark Halperin of pop culture- never right about anything. "This has been a good week for John McCain!"
-
Jesus Christ, seriously, you thought they were going to get rid of the only common character with every season on the show?
24 isn't Law and Order or ER. The show won't last without him. Fuck, after next season, it will probably be done anyways.
This season has been good, and much better than Season 6, that's for fucking sure. At this point, if you are tired of the same basic premise over and over again, my suggestion is to quit watching.
I knew they weren't going to have Jack pull a George Mason.
BTW, I am two episodes behind but I came in here anyways because I read a spoiler that Kim was coming back so I knew what was going to happen.
-
They never said he was going to die anyway. They said he was infected but they didn't know how bad it was. Clearly he wasn't exposed to the same dose or military grade as those African people were.
-
No, they clearly said he was going to die.

Clearly, they're not members of the superior race. :tbslol

1. Doctor tests Jack, results in 15min
2. Doctor says Jack is infected but pathogen is not contagious
3. Jack begins to show symptoms, has seizure
4. Doctor gives Jack medication to mask the virus, suggests possible stem cell cure. Jack refuses
Find me one clip where "they" clearly say he's going to die. Now I'd imagine eventually the virus would kill him if he doesn't get a cure but the show gave no indication that Jack was going to fall down and die immediately. Hence why I think he didn't get exposed to a fully weaponized version, or the dose was so small
Seems obvious that at some point Jack will be indisposed and Kim will be called in - unless Hodges has a cure (unlikely imo). So maybe Jack gets cured, but still has unknown lingering symptoms that lead to his death in S8. According to Jobber at GAF, he does die in S8 but considering the writers change shit so much, who knows.
-
well jobber is a stupid mother fucker
but i do think jack's gonna die at the end of season 8.
just not because that idiot says so.
-
Ah, confirmed Kim is in next episode.
Also the president is pretty meh this season. Kinda...weak. She relies on Jack, and sure Palmer did the same thing, but he was also more than capable of making tough decisions. Seems like Taylor hasn't been able to do shit since the planes crashed

Dude, they said the pathogen is fatal and there's no cure.

Dude, they said the pathogen is fatal and there's no cure.
So now you contradict yourself; find me a clip where "they" say there's no cure.
There's a "possible" cure which apparently will come into play next episode. If not treated sure, he's going to die. But we know he doesn't die in S7. Which leaves us a couple possibilities
1. the medication masks the virus until the last minute of day 7, at which point Jack goes into some seizure and the season ends
2. Kim saves the day (possibly temporarily)
Cuthbert is in the next episode, so 2 is the most likely.

MAURICE:
THE EPISODE BEFORE THE CRAZY STEM CELL CURE - THEY SPECIFICALLY STATED THERE WAS NO CURE. I AM NOT GOING TO DVR IT, BUT IF YOU DISAGREE - YOU DID NOT WATCH IT.
-
the jew is right, sorry blackie
-
I'm looking at the Hulu clip right now.
There's a possible cure, get over it you're wrong. You say the show is predictable right? Well you should see where this is going

Let me detail why you're wrong and why you're dumb.
The episode before, Jack was told he was infected with a LETHAL PATHOGEN with NO CURE!
The very next episode, we are told of EXPERIMENTAL STEM CELL CURE INVOLVING HIS DAUGHTER!
Not to mention that such a procedure makes no sense scientifically whatsoever (nanomachines!) - we were told just an "hour" before that he was going to die. Now, is that ridiculous writing? Absolutely. Was it unlikely that Jack would die? Yep.
But don't defend bad writing because you're some kind of 24 apologist. At least Bloodwake can recognize that it was just a stunt.
-
Ridiculous plot turns in 24? I'm shocked!
Why do you keep saying he was told he was going to die? They never say that; find me a clip where Jack is told he will die, use Hulu it's easier. He's told he's "patient zero" because they know little about the disease. He shows symptoms, the doctor remarks the virus is working faster than expected, so she gives him some medication.
I can understand the argument about stem cells though. The doctor says it's more of a possible cure for similar viruses so I had no problem with it. In terms of its scientific merits...seriously? You realize you're watching 24 right.

I have more issue with the fact that Kim will probably already had been in DC this entire time.
