Game is freaking awesome

* Requires UK account on either console
-
game looks like garbage but i will download the demo.

I signed up and got the code right away, no problem with a US system. Of course, I had to make two separate accounts since I for some reason picked the PS3 version first. :/
-
he means you need a UK account on the console to use the code you get
which is why i opted for the ps3 version
hopefully it's not assy
it will be.

Please note, these keys are region-locked to European Xbox LIVE and PSN accounts - they are not valid in North America or any other country outside the EU.

That's something they added in the last hour, then. I had no problem getting the demo on my All-American 360.
On a related note, the walker is the coolest thing ever.
-
I didn't realise this was 3rd person open-world game until I started the demo. I thought it would be an fps.
-
Other than cool environment damage, I don't see how this is any better than Mercenaries.
-
I suppose, but I don't see how that's a bad thing. Mercenaries is a pretty cool game.
-
Mercenaries didn't really click with me, probably why playing this doesn't take my fancy either.
-
To each their own. I'm not really interested in the shooter bit here, but the creative destruction is hot. If you're going to make a game about blowing stuff up, this is how you do it.
-
I played the demo a week or so ago and enjoyed it. I was also in the multiplayer beta a while back and enjoyed that too. Pretty excited for the full game, but it's coming out in June. So now this, Prototype, infamous, Bionic Commando and Batman are all out in June. Probably more things I'm forgetting too. At least it's summer time and all.
-
signing up for demos is almost as stupid as buying a movie to get a demo.
whens the lazy persons demo release for this?
-
If you want it on PS3, I have a spare code
-
if you're in Europe and want a 360 code, I have one that didn't work for America.
-
Tried the PS3 demo (had a UK account on there) and was impressed. The destruction is really really impressive and surprised me. When you take control of that walker and just start steamrolling buildings, it's really insane to watch. The post processing added really improves the look of the game over the early footage as well. It's probably the most impressive building destruction I've seen to date (even beyond Crysis simply due to the much larger and more complex structures that can be destroyed). I was also totally surprised to see it running smoothly (especially considering how choppy their last two games were).
-
I can't remember much from RF1 and 2, how was the environment variety? That's my main concern, but hell, I'd probably buy it even if took place only in environments like the one in the demo.
-
They've already said that the environments range from this red <ars stuff to terraformed greenery parts of Mars to Snow/Ice based area. At least I'm pretty sure they've said that before in a recent interview.
-
Ah, sounds good then. Red rock is nice and all, but some variety can't hurt. And now I really want a proper, dirty mech game.
-
Damn I signed up, tried it on my dutch account which is in Europe obviously, but it didn't work. :(
Did I do something wrong? :/
-
Here's that PS3 code if anyone wants it

volition spent 4 years developing this engine. the game is an absolute technical marvel in regards to the destruction and physics. no other game is even in the same league with destructibility.

Sounds hot
-
^ sounds cool
if u played fracture...there is a vortex grenade that does the same thing and lots of debris and stuff get sucked in. i can't wait to get this game
-
The environmental destruction is nothing short of incredible from what I've seen.
-
Yeah, the weapon idea is nothing new, but having seen what a simple C4 charge can do in this game, I can't even imagine what that thing will look like when it blows up :omg
-
It's a mess of a game.
But it's fun as fuck. I took that mech thing and literally just stomped my through this building. Oh god the destruction.
This game better have a freeroam mode with godmode.
-
Were any of you in the MP beta? Seems like it could be a lot of crazy fun in MP, so how was it?
-
I thought it was genuine boring garbage. The games shooting mechanics are shitty as all hell and does not work well for multiplayer.
-
I didn't have a problem with the shooting in this demo. Nothing fancy, but not broken either. The only thing is that headshots don't seem to do much, which I suppose would be a bit weird in MP.
-
I thought the MP was fun.. but I want to play this demo :(!!! I live in europe ffs
-

So what's stopping you? :wtf
-
heh well earlier I couldn't redeem the code I got..it said invalid or whatever.. I just requested a new code and got through, downloading now!! :D
woohoo
-
the vast majority of the multi-player impressions i've read from the beta were positive, and remember this was a beta
i really hope the game does well because it looks like it's gonna be awesome. they spent 4 years making the game and this godly engine...almost an entire gen, think about that for a minute.
if games like this, killzone 2, and other monster AAA titles pushing insane tech sell poorly, we'll never see this kind of ambition again. we'll be relegated to half-assed nfag garbage..
-
The demo is good, so it should have a positive effect on sales. Well, that is if it was easily accessible. I understand that there are marketing and raw monetary incentives in doing these pre-order demos, but it seems like it could very easily backfire. That, and it's just plain crappy. It's a fucking demo, give it to the people.
-
Are the two versions pretty much identical? Downloading the PS3 demo now cause I already had a UK account.
The only Red Faction I played was #1 on PS2? (or was it PS1?). I remember how cool it was to blow holes in the walls. Looking forward to trying this one after all the positive buzz here.
-
This works on US accounts for 360... downloading it now
-
This looks very cool. Flew under my radar...may pick up.
-
New developer diary featuring the Singularity Bomb. You will say holy shit.

Volition is one of the most impressive developers yet. Fuck.
:bow
-
jesus fuck the destruction is detailed. The demo is like 5 minutes long.
-
I don't really care about the single player campaign. I just want to be able to run around and destroy stuff in peace.

Me too. The EDF were really annoying.
-
So... in the demo, when it says EDF Property Destroyed or whatever, is that a bad thing? Looks like is subtracts something from some meter.
-
I think you have to destroy a certain number of buildings to "liberate" an area. It is a bad thing to shoot civilians though but I don't know if they have their own buildings.
-
I thought the world itself was a little boring but breaking stuff was fuck awesome
