Title: Jackie Chan hates freedom

It’s not unusual for actors to stumble when they talk about politics, but Jackie Chan, below, has struck a nerve on a particularly divisive issue. In the southern Chinese province of Hainan on Saturday Mr. Chan, the action star, told a group of business leaders, “I’m not sure if it’s good to have freedom or not,” The Associated Press reported. He also said: “I’m gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we’re not being controlled, we’ll just do what we want.” Mr. Chan’s remarks have drawn criticism from lawmakers in Taiwan and Hong Kong, where Mr. Chan was born. “He’s insulted the Chinese people,” the Hong Kong pro-democracy legislator Leung Kwok-hung told The Associated Press. “Chinese people aren’t pets.” Another Hong Kong lawmaker, Albert Ho, said: “His comments are racist. People around the world are running their own countries. Why can’t Chinese do the same?” Hong Kong and Taiwan news outlets reported the comments, but mainland China did not. According to his Web site, jackiechan.com, Mr. Chan will perform May 1 at the Jackie and His Friends Concert in Beijing.

Many chinese feel the same way, whats so strange about that?

They have freedom in every aspect (and in the economic even more then in the west) except they cant critisize their government. Boohoo.

holy fucking shit dude, i think the syphilis is starting to eat into your brain

What Kosma siad. Many of the middle class and rich Chinese feel they have a high amount of personal freedom, which in effect they do. From what I've seen it's similar to the West and to be frank there's a lot of apathy to the political process.
However if the economy fails then we might see the middle class actually going crazy.

what point was that?  you didn't say anything but make some dumb ass joke.

That's interesting that middle and upper class chinese feel that way, but whatever, it's good to at least have the option to criticize government open, ya know?

It's no wonder he feels this way, though! Look:

He lives in oppressive China and makes all the best movies of his career, arguably the best Kung-Fu movies of all time.

He takes his career to America, where anyone can do whatever they want, and he makes the crappiest movies of his career.

QE-fucking-D, baby.

Ironically, this is because of oppressive unions etc in America that wouldn't let him do all the cool stunts he wanted to.

edit: And Chris Tucker
