Title: Lego Rock Band is real.
Post by: archie4208 on April 21, 2009, 10:40:26 AM
I think it's just another Lego game with licensed music or something.  ???

Song list so far:

Blur: “Song 2”
Carl Douglas: “Kung Fu Fighting”
Europe: “The Final Countdown”
Good Charlotte: “Boys and Girls”
Pink:    “So What”

Song 2 better be the master recording, and not a cover like Beetlebum.

I don't think anyone here has applauded this decision.  ::)

Activision is still releasing way more GH titles per year.  So far we have 2 RB games released and three down the pipe.  Still pretty minuscule compared to GH's yearly output.

AC/DC was just a Track Pack. Still, all these extra releases can go choke on a squirrel, just give me the DLC and an updated release every ~18 months.

There are two Rock Band games out. and this is compared to:

GHI
II
III: Legends of Rock
IV: World Tour
80s
Aerosmith
Metallica
upcoming I+II+III repack ("Smash Hits")
the 2 3 DS games in the course of a single calendar year
the Tiger Electronics nonsense
the cell phone versions
the belt buckle
THE BELT BUCKLE (http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-Belt-and-Amplifier/dp/B000YMSSQ2/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1240346556&sr=8-16)

no one here is saying LEGO Rock Band is a good thing (though it's a great business decision, and if it's compatible with RB1+2+DLC, doesn't break up the platform). but saying "now that there's LEGO Rock Band, it's as tainted as Guitar Hero" is ... just stupid ... ?

(looks at name next to post)

right, well, carry on then

I like the lego games for the mindless fun. But what gives. Are they doing this to compete with the Disney sing-it market?

"Figures released by The NPD Group show the game as being the third highest selling of 2006 for all consoles, except for PC."

I should have figured they are reaching out to the Lego game market to sell more copies of Rock Band. I was thinking about Rock Band another version instead of what's the new Lego game.

Warner are publishing this too, so it's not like EA is trying to do an Activsion with it.

What can the Lego brand possibly add to Rock Band? It doesn't make sense.

Is there something in the main brand that isn't for kids and families? Or is that just those pesky lyrics and T-rating?

Those toys are crap, too. Saw a couple at Best Buy during my vacation, and was in full-on SMH mode.

There's a cartoon?

So what kind of lego-themed music can we expect?

I'm expecting J-Lo's "Jenny from the Block" and The Commodore's "Brick House."
