Title: Is anyone here getting Lode Runner tomorrow?
Post by: AdmiralViscen on April 21, 2009, 10:27:20 PM: If it was 800 points I'd be a lock, now I'm just a probably. I love me some Lode Runner. Looks like it has the original levels remade, 50 or so new levels, new co op levels, custom maps that can actually be uploaded on XBL (full on uploads, no friends list bullshit), and deathmatch and shit. Seems like a good buy.

IGN is the only place that really has any videos on it.

I never really got into the series either. When I played it originally on the gameboy I could see why people liked it, but I preferred something slower paced like Boxxle or Kwik the Killer Tomato for my puzzle needs.

I still think 1200 is probably too high but online level trading/new graphics etc do warrant an 800 pt price at least.

Ah what the hell, I was actually considering buying it for 800 too since I really enjoyed the trial. Oh well, their loss.

Dude. This.

I was big on Lode Runner at that time, too. Got so into it, I even drew a comic book to generate a backstory for it. That was 15-year-old me. Now that I'm arguably a grown-up and this new version even attempts a backstory I'm baffled at why they tried; it's just pure puzzle gameplay. Tetris does not need a backstory, neither does this.

And about "Swashbuckler," I keep hoping Karateka will one day get the Prince of Persia-style remake it deserves.
