In all honesty, I will probably agree with this for the first time, bypassing my usual love of the summer blockbusters. The only one I will like is Star Trek, Terminator: Salvation will probably disappoint, and those other two unmentionables will probably make me blind and deaf from how fucking goddamn horrible they will be.

I mean, i don't know what you search for in summer season, but it's impossible to look at it and anticipate a shitty summer for "Summer movies", unless you hate summer movies period.

Post by: Tucah on May 02, 2009, 12:24:09 PM: I just wanted a summer with tentpoles I was actually looking forward too. Last summer had Iron Man, TDK, Indy 4 and Hellboy 2. Sure, half of those ended up disappointing, but I was really excited for all of them coming into the summer months. This summer doesn't have any big event movie that I want to see as much as any of those movies - sure, Star Trek looks great, but I was never a fan of the franchise. I'm a huge Terminator fan, but McG doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the film. T2/GI Joe/Wolvy are all movies where I wanted to see them solely because they're big summer action flicks, I have no previous investment in their franchises.

Still, you're right that there are a shitload of other great movies coming out - I totally forgot about Bruno, Hurt Locker looks pretty cool and Inglorious Basterds has the potential for greatness.
