LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fresh off the muscular box-office performance of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," one of the film's characters is headed for a movie of his own.
20th Century Fox is developing a spin-off featuring Deadpool, the wise-cracking mercenary played in the film by Ryan Reynolds.

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU...?
Sounds pretty cool to me. I hope they get a good writer/director though.

:lol

Lol, I can already smell the shit rising from this.
-
Deadpool is the unholy win. If they can just fix the eye lazers and unsew his mouth and maybe get a new director, there is potential.
-
So many ifs...
If they can somehow get Favraeu to direct, maybe, somehow.

And remove the lame adamantium blades from his arms.

That storyline doesn't really work for film, honestly.

I'm not going to watch it unless he has laser vision.
-
didnt deadpool get his head cut off in origins?

I never paid much attention to the character in the past, having an aversion to all things Liefeld-related, but I did read Deadpool #11, where he got trapped in an issue of Amazing Spider-Man from the 1960s, and some of the dialogue was pretty hilarious.
I guess the main problem with doing a movie based around the character is that he's so integrated in the Marvel "universe" by his interactions with other heroes that any stand-alone film plot would lose a bit of what makes the character so funny.

If that was in the movie I'd be there day one.

Just give me the merc with a mouth, that's all.

I hope you assholes learned your lesson with wolverine and don't pay to see this piece of shit.
Also no Bob, no cam download.

Pretty sure cameos are possible. Full blown characters are a different scenario.

ROFL great panel. Doesn't so much show his insanity as his not giving a F. Deadpool is tied for my favorite marvel character. It is RARE when a line in a comic book makes me chortle out loud, and when Joe Kelly was writing him, that happened -every issue-.
-
I used to think he was just a Ninja with a smart ass attitude, when i was a kid reading comics. I remember him getting blasted in the back by this chick with a black dot around her eye, something to do with Cable.
But a friend of mine showed me his issue in that arc where aliens are invading the world, i don't recall the name, and it was hilarious the way he was aware of where he was, and the way he managed to kill every alien the space ship he was in by doing some rather clever things but that were funny and stupid in a sense.
I became a fan with that issue, downloaded a bunch of comics of his and sure there's a ton of stinkers, but in a time where i no longer read comics, he made me read again and that was fun.
-
That would be Domino, my other favorite Marvel character. So hot.
-
Fuck fox, lets post some Deadpool scans!

As much as I like the funny crazy asshole Deadpool- I would like to see the nihlistic, depressed one too since it's alluded to that he doesn't know whether he lives in false imaginary world or still remembers the bad shit he has done before. Or if he uses the former as an excuse for the later.
-
I always thought it was pretty much both. Deadpool's the guy who is constantly braying at the top of his lungs because being quiet and trying to think about himself would probably scare him to death. He's incurably insane, can't distinguish reality from hallucination half the time...and that's all due to what's keeping him alive.
He's both the funniest Marvel character, and the saddest, imo.
-
The Deadpool shit in this thread is loltastic.
There's no way this would make a good movie though.
-
You shut your mouth. A Deadpool movie could set the standard for all superhero movies and even movies of all genres.

Directed by Tim Miller and backed by 20th Century Fox, “Deadpool” crossed the $200 million domestic mark during its second weekend in release after posting the best debut ever for an R-rated movie.
Didn't manage to see this stateside, so probably just buy it on iTunes when it comes out. :-\
