I wanna write something set in a religious cult, one whose supernatural beliefs were actually true. It would work sort of like Buffy or Angel in that it overlays a mythology on the real world, and the characters' fantastic problems parallel and are used as metaphors for more mundane real-life problems, only instead of fighting vampires and demons or whatever, our crew is working to bring about the resurrection of sealed ancient gods, a la stereotypical JRPG villains. Only instead of being evil, these gods are awesome and will make the world awesome.
i can't decide whether to do this or continue with the vampire fiction project i started a ways back. Huh

so basically cthulhu stories in reverse
-
more or less, but with more wacky romcom hijinx
-
so a tom holt book
-
This might do well with a nerd niche, but I'm scared of it.
-
go for it, if your lucky it becomes big and you are the next equivalent of Laura Hamilton or such.
-
but as we have already seen from this thread, 100% of women are turned off by the concept :'(
-
Oh, it's just the romcom aspect that turns me off. Not all women are as jaded as I am! in fact, I'd say very few of them are, judging by the popularity of Twilight.

sealed god sounds cool
