I'm not buying that this is any way gameplay. Promotional footage to establish the feel and theme of the game, maybe, but it'd be pretty sad if BG&E had suddenly become an action game set in New Jerusalem.

The first game had parts that were similar to what's in the video, i.e. scenes of Jade running from the cops and jumping across rooftops while all sorts of crazy stuff exploded and so on.

I honestly couldn't remember that bit until someone showed me a clip of it. Weed might have had something to do with that, but it doesn't at all fit into my memory of what BG&E was like. Subsequently, this looks completely off too.

Scenes like that were fairly sparse.

Looks very non-ingame-ish.

OH MY FUCK

that gave me chills.  def not in-game, unless god is directing the camera and animation on the staff...but still, I just got re-hyped for the game

Jade and those helicopters at the end don't fit in that real world environment at all.

it seemed a good bit grittier than the first game too.  like Jade got lost in the first chapter of MGS4

I really liked the first one, I can't wait to see more from this one. I'm still kind of shocked they're actually making a sequel after the first one bombed.

It makes sense though, as it's the most efficient way of getting around. And contrary to what the French may claim, rapid, low impact movement is not exactly new stuff.

there were only like two parts like that and one of them was in the demo.

But anyways, I trust Ancel enough to make any sort of damn game he pleases.  Heck, a sci-fi/fantasy platformer done right could be a wonderful thing.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be awesome. I just don't want to lose the mellow tone of the first one.

I vote "promo vid" as well. The camera movement isn't conducive to actual gameplay control. This is probably a video they're using internally as a target for gameplay, lighting, audio direction... and has now been leaked by some PR flack to start the viral campaign.

And I don't care. It's awesome. I loved BG&E so freakin' much. It was great.
