Title: Did anyone NOT have a despressing weekend?

went to go play dnd on saturday morning w/ the gf. we found $11 on the ground and used it to buy some pre-game pizza. after that we went to the ifc center to see Revanche, but not until we had some pretty good faux Mexican food.

then sunday she came over and we watched the second season of The Inbetweeners, walked along the piers, had some beers on a boat, then cooked some salmon with brown wild rice and lightly roasted organic greens.

Post by: Don Flamenco on May 11, 2009, 12:30:09 PM: I spent way too many hours playing Soul Calibur 4, went to an art opening and got to scream into a microphone, and grilled for a bunch of people at my mom's mother's day party yesterday. Not too shabby.

Saturday -- Went on a hike in the morning, saw Star Trek later in the day and went out for dinner and drinks at an awesome German place.
Sunday -- Had bagels and mamosas on our patio with friends, hit up the local farmer's market and had Mother's Day dinner at my parents' house.

Also played lots of LBP, StarTropics 2, and went bowling with some co-workers. Plus ate at my favorite local rib joint, which I haven't been at in a while.

Post by: tehjaybo on May 11, 2009, 12:59:14 PM: I had a pretty good weekend, other than my friend getting drunk and distinguished mentally-challenged over emo shit, and me being afraid he was going to kill himself so I drove 30 minutes back to where I had just left earlier that day.

Star Trek with some old friends and some new friends on friday, then adjourned to Steak and Shake where we proceeded to nearly get kicked out. Saturday, went to some kind of International Festival in Berea. Ate a funnel cake. Delicious. Went to a small party, got bored, and left. Sunday, taught my girlfriend how to shoot a gun, and helped her stay on her feet as she shot a 12 gauge. She's pretty small, and it was funny.

I had a full but nice weekend. Went to Gamesday in Baltimore, MD on Saturday. Got lost in the ghetto on Friday getting to our hotel. That was lultastic. Gamesday was ok, it was fun but never again. It's basically like they took a Games Workshop store and blew it up to convention size. ::) I whooped up in the 1 game I got to play in the tournament though. :gun Drove back Saturday and died at my parents house, then spent Sunday at my wife's grandma's. Drove back to Brooklyn and died again.

Ate a bunch of good food, had some kick ass sex, and I think my fears of liver failure may have been unfounded. Also found a US distributor for Swedish snus, so yeah, things are alright.

Oh, and Jeff Goldblum makes for a better member of the major case squad than expected.

How did that go?

A few years ago, while driving to my aunt's in Missouri, my pops and my uncle Wayne got us lost driving what was a glorified church bus in the worst part of EAST ST. LOUIS. I fell asleep in Louisville, woke up in one of the worst places in the United States (Also Louisville. I just wanted to make a joke at Little Brother College's expense. I was awake the whole time we got lost in East St. Louis. That place was BAD NEWS though.).

IDK man, GW is horrible. There were so many new units not there for guard (and probably orks too). Graham McNeill Was there signing and they were supposed to have his new Ultramarines book there but oops, not there. A monkey probably would be better organized. I didn't really get to look at the Forgeworld section because there was a huuuuuge line. The specialist games got some love though. Played a super dumbed down game of BFG and there was some Blood Bowl going on and some Necromunda. I should check out what the dilio is with Necromunda, gangers are awesome.

Edit: T234, it was hardcore ghetto man, going down 1 way streets slowly with cars on both sides. Groups of like 18-20 preteens running around and women on the porches. Liquor and chicken stores. Cop cars and street video surveillance cameras. Absolutely no white people (cept for us 3 nerds in the car). :mrt

by the time i moved, i basically just tossed all my stuff rather than keep it.

did the same thing with mordheim. a move i now regret because mordheim is pretty fucking awesome too

Yeah, last time my friends and I were in B'more, we walked a few blocks away from the (really nice) Inner Harbor, and my friend got accosted by a prostitute, we walked past all these strip clubs, really shady.

I think it was a pretty cool weekend. No night out, but there wasn't much room for it, i had to do stuff in the house.

Went to my friend's place on Friday. We watched Smackdown, lol'd at the wrestling. Then we watched FFVIIAC blu ray, played some Arkanoid 360, and did some RE5 co-op.

Saturday I mostly chilled, went to get my haircut, read a bit. Was a relaxing day. They played Kill Bill and some other cool movies on tv so I watched those.

Sunday I spent all day with my mother and grandmother. We went to see some play, went home with my grandma and spent the night. Had fun with some family while at her place. My cousin and I watched Hero and played cards. Fun times.

Not much to complain about here.

There's only one thing I have to complain about.

Yesterday I was driving to my grandma's place and there was a train. Now, I'm used to this train as it's on the way there but this has NEVER happened to me before. I sat there for 30-40 minutes. waiting for the train to cross. It went in reverse, then it stopped for a few minutes, then it accelerated, reversed;etc for a good hour. I couldn't take any other routes because the train was so effing long and this was my main route to my grandma's place. The only other route was along the highway and that was way out of the way.

So I just sat there with my car off, the radio on, for an hour.

Post by: Positive Touch on May 12, 2009, 01:11:38 AM: mine was alright. friday i snuck into wolverine w/a friend, and raided a college dumpster afterwards but didn't find anything that great. i spent a lot of time with family on sat. & sun. because my brother just graduated, so that was fun. also went to a friend's bachelor party, which was kinda eh besides getting to see some old friends. we went to the casino and i didn't feel like doing anything cause i'm so broke, and the strip club we went to (my first) was pretty much exactly like i always thought a shitty strip club would be. no c-scars (or bullet wounds lol), but a lot of busted-up women (with NO ASSES) doing shitty dances to awful music for inbred-lookin hillbillies. still a fun night tho.

Friends went to see it at the IMAX and I didn't feel like paying $15 for a ticket and driving all the way out to the Mall of Georgia to see it. Plus it was Sunday late-afternoon...Mother's Day was kinda in the way.
