Black people finally make it into a Disney animated flick and aren't drawn as animals!

Posted in the link thread, by me. I didn't think it deserved its own thread given the pedestrian trailer. Good art, everything else looks and sounds meh

this is gonna bomb so hard

The funny thing is blacks were only offended at her original name & occupation. The French were offended at the Frog part, which is why it isn't called Frog Princess anymore.

Why?  It's no different than how blacks use the word "blacks".

some people (Blackace, for one) draw a strong distinction between "blacks" and "Blacks." I prefer the lowercase if only because "Blacks" reeks too strongly of a trademarked brand name

I've always been opposed to African-American (or Anything-American) due to how imprecise and assumptive it is. It's extra silly once you start looking at other countries, for example the UK. Oh, so now Paterson Joseph (http://www.independent.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00051/PATERSON-JOSEPH_51790t.jpg) is an "African-American"?

in conclusion, I wish I could wear my All Blacks jersey in Los Angeles without getting beat up

A colleague once called a Dutch black guy African-American, translated to Dutch, to make things worse.
I ended up being a racist after making fun of her.

How many movies come out that you can take you pre-teen daughter to? I think this will do well. 100-130 million.

:btw I bet Drinky gets roped into taking his daughter to it.
