Looks really impressive. I would love it if they decided to make another Blade Runner game with this tech.
The Blade Runner game that came out about 10 yrs ago was awesome.

I love the old point and click Blade Runner. I miss those type of games. Thankfully with Sam and Max we're seeing a resurgence.

how many fps?
This shot was created with the intention of re-creating a famous movie scene (that is, it's not actually a map designed to be played).. I can't imagine it would actually run at a playable framerate (could be wrong, however).

In that case it could very well be a render done in Maya/ 3DS.
What was the point of using CryEngine 2 if it wasn't realtime?
Using an actual game engine gives us a look at the not-so-distant future when hardware has caught up with engine capabilities.

Actually hardware is not the issue. It's that no one will spend the $$$ and time to have an army of artists create assets of that detail for an entire game.
...unless next-gen goes from the current 6 hour SP -> 4 hour SP :-X

High quality assets are already used to produce in-game assets, so I don't see why that would be more of a stopping block than it currently is.

Yeah, that game was really impressive for its time. Another point-and-click adventure might be a good way to do things. The current market, it would sadly be reinvented as BIOSHOCKRUNNER, an FPS with mild RPG skinning.

It's a case of one in a million but Blade Runner the game is better than Blade Runner the movie.
Never played the game but this isn't surprising. The movie is pretty weak. Very pretty but that's it

Huh. I meant this as a joke, or possibly a means of opening a discourse on Blade Runner, but you've saved me a lot of time and wasted energy. Thanks!

You're welcome, BR isn't worth discussing. Like 2001 it's a bad movie that happens to be beautiful

I love these bold, opinionated statements that internet forums produce.

Just when I thought I could respect you.

Except that the matrix's had baseless metaphors and disjointed storytelling. I can see why people liked the first one but apparently the original sequence for the trilogy was:
1. Prequel showing the humans being taken over.
2. What actually became the first movie. Showing who neo is and the human resistance.
3. The second and third movies' story.
It would have been a lot better that way. I'm guessing that studios thought the first one would be too dark or something to justify a full trilogy so they just split up the third movie.
Both BR and the Matrix had really good special effects but Blade Runner felt a lot more original artistically.
