man, every stinkin' windows dvd rip software i try fails on drm shit, like the 5th harry potter. on the other hand, handbrake on the mac rips even drm shit easily and perfectly. i have tried handbrake pc and 123copyDVD, and both croak on drm-protected disks. what is the solution? my wife wants to rip movies to her zune.
help, nerds!

Stop pirating movies, Pirate.

ANYWAY

DVD Decrypter? Zune doesnt play AVI?
-
rip to avi as well
just SOMETHING that rips drm'd disks to a common video format
-
DVD Decrypter and SUPER (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) is what I use normally. SUPER's UI is a piece of shit but works with everything I throw on it.

cool. thanks!

Stop pirating movies, Pirate.

Normally I'd recommend DVDFab to copy to portable formats (though, there's no built-in WMV output option), but it looks like they just updated to a new version that seems to have confuzzled things for me.

Actually, yea, I'd still recommend DVDFab.
There's a portableappz version of it. If you want to rip a DVD to WMV, choose the Xbox360 option, and then edit the settings specifically to meet your needs. If you want to go to another format, you can choose the Generic setting, and it will allow avi/mkv with divx or h.264.
