Title: Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom coming to North America.

Couldn't find more scans.  But we all knows how it looks anyway.

I would hope for a 360 port as well, where I have a stick and a functional online system.

Yeah, I'd prefer a PS360 port as well, but I am glad it's getting localized!

Yup, although I'd say the Versus titles are more unbalanced rather than broken (especially MVC2). Semantics. :P

I know Lyte Edge is going to disagree, but if you want to see a "broken" 2D fighter download SVC Chaos. The game had some serious balance issues that rendered the game unplayable at a tournament level.

I liked it, but in my local fighting area we got bored of it within a week and moved on.  It's a decent fighter, but the roster is too small and some characters aren't that fun (Rockman booooo).  The two giant characters are kind of awesome, even if totally broken.

Oh and the graphics look like shit because it's full of Wii jaggies.

So I guess this & Gyakuten 5 are Capcom's 2 "secret" announcements for E3?   :-\

At their gamer day someone grabbed a pic of the trailer running in the background.  They're calling it "Ace Attorney Investigations" or something like that.

Um we already know Perfect Prosecutor is coming to America. That's not secret...

Oh that. I thought he meant an actual new Ace Attorney game. :(

I'll probably get the NA version even though I have the import.  I like it even if it has a fucking awful final boss made worse when playing as the two large characters.

No way am I going to disagree on that!   All I've ever questioned is why people were willing to accept uber-broken MvC2 but NOT uber-broken SvC Chaos is all!   :lol  SNK made up for SvC Chaos with Neo Geo Battle Coliseum.  I dunno if Capcom made up for MvC2 with TvC; sure the game's fun, but the stuff I've seen with certain characters and that baroque system...yeah.

It's cool the game is getting an American release though.  Hopefully they also announce a PS3/360 port alongside it or add online play to the U.S. version (hey, they did it with We Love Golf).

I'm not so sure I want this. Just a little. There's a part of me that wants to like fighting games but my experience with the VS. series has been a full cerebral assault of complex inputs and having no clue how to properly use assists.  It would be a good excuse to geek out and buy a stick for the first time in my life.

MvC2 is broken but the gameplay and characters are still solid feeling. SvC Chaos is just a mess everywhere, from the animations, move velocities, hitboxes, and general feel of the game. The problems with it go far deeper then simply being broken.

I gave MvsC2, Tekken 3, Alpha 3, and Soul Calibur 2 anywhere from a few days to a few weeks before giving up on them. When I got a ps2 I had street fighter anniversary collection and Virtua fighter 4 but I got bored with them after a few hours.  So, I guess I realise I don't want this game after all, :p

Actually, pro smash is carpal tunnel inducing, so no I wasn't going to take the time to program shffling into my muscle memory.  I love Brawl's autocancels much better. Just wish there was hitsstun :[ .

If you can play Smash competitively, there isn't much of a transition to other fighting games.  You've got your same concepts of spacing, punishment, hit boxes, etc.  The inputs are just more complex.

He can't if he thinks something as simple as Smash is carpal tunnel inducing. Now I understand why his tastes in games is the way that it is. :(

Pro Melee wasn't simple. To do a shuffle correctly, hit jump for a fraction of a second, input attack at apex, fastfall and l-cancel before landing. Rinse and repeat. It doesn't sound complicated but I could never reliably do it because l-canceling with the gcn triggers was a bitch.

edit: but then again I couldn't do a falco shl chain reliably either.  I don't have the best manual dexterity.

how ugly are we talkin here? it's at least progressive scan, right? i can't stand playing some ps2 fighters because of the scanlines

what conroller would be good for a fighting game on wii? the classic?

I don't think it has progressive.  The image quality is pretty bad.  Doesn't look clean.

Classic controller works fine for it.  GC controller as well.

No, it has progressive scan.  Have you ever seen a 480i Wii game before?  The image quality is truly  :-X :-X :-X

TvC is a decent-looking game, although some of the character textures and backgrounds scream "Dreamcast game!" sometimes.   :lol  Street Fighter IV is a much-more detailed game in comparison, although there are things about TvC's art style that I like better.

I play the game alone every now and then, but none of my friends really cared about it, and absolutely nobody gave a shit once SF4 was released.  IMO once MvC2 hits XBLA/PSN, Vs. fans aren't gonna give a shit either.  Stop releasing fighting games without online play, please.

There is talk of an online mode being added, but friend codes and the abhorrent netcode in Brawl make me :-\

Yeah, I saw this, and talk of more characters, too.  Thing is, they can't possibly expect a game called "Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom" to sell very well outside of Japan (hell, did it even do that well IN Japan?  The arcade version has only just recently barely cracked the bottom of the top 10 arcade games too), so are they really going to put that much effort into it?

Best thing that could come of this is a port-up to the real consoles.

On my TV 480i and 480p look identical so I can never tell the difference except when Wii games look really jaggy and shitty IQ I just assume they don't have 480p.

There's nothing wrong with the character models/textures.  It's just the IQ.  Have you seen the shots of it running off an emulator?  It looks good!  It just doesn't look like that on the Wii :(

Bebpo-- Yeah, I've seen that, but so what?  PSOne games look awesome on emulators too!   :lol  Some of the backgrounds and the lack of character facial animation in intros and such just screams "Dreamcast."  I love the Onimusha background though-- that looks so awesome.
