Title: Windows help!

I've gotten a blue screen twice in the last ten mins.  I had gotten a warning about having less than 200MB left for memory shortly before that.     

When I start up windows I don't get a taskbar.  Task Manager says explorer is running.  I also get my desktop shortcuts and files.  If I end explorer and start it back up I lose all the desktop icons and the taskbar still doesn't come back. 

I've deleted a few gigs of stuff but it still isn't working proper.

No, unless windows can't find a previous installation. even then, only your my docs folder gets wiped. All the other data stays in it's current file structure.

copy and paste don't work.  I can't physically move the files and my external drives are not showing up on the "move to" option.

I'm using windows file transfer wizard to move shit.  I'm hoping this works. 

If I can just get the pictures off and my school work. I'll be less panicky.

Ok It's made a .DAT file.  How do I uncompress it to make sure it worked?

reinstall  :'(  Everything was lost. 

I'm going to dual boot mandriva now that I have the extra space.

I didn't do a reformat when I reinstalled it.  Now it's telling me that most of my discspace is being used.  Did I fuck up? 

edit:  space monger is showing me my old files!!!
