Title: What did you guys think of "Pi the movie"?

The financing for this movie was just awesome. Aronofsky asked 100 people for 100 dollars and promised that everyone would get 150 dollars back.

The movie itself is like a giant hallucinating trip. The mood and atmosphere reminds me a lot of Twelve Monkey's (which is also fuck awesome)

Yes the score/soundtrack is so badass. A very artsy movie too. Only seen it once, I may watch it again one of these days.

still need to check it out. I liked Requiem for a Dream, and I loved The Fountain

Wrestler > Pi > Requiem >> Fountain.  I still like everything the dude has done, but Fountain kind of pissed me off.  BAD ACTING IS BAD.

On topic, Pi is fuck awesome.

It was a really disappointing movie

Rather than explain the concept of how exactly the 216 digit number works, Max just like becomes clairvoyant and is predicting everything with what you are expected to assume is some sort of super-math.  Fine, but why did the plot up to that point focus more on Max's methodology than on the rest of his life?  They should have spent more time explaining who the fuck Max is and what he used to be like.  They spent barely any time explaining how Max's personality got the way that it is.  That's why when he drills his head, sacrificing the most talented skill that he has, it felt totally random and uncharacteristic to me.

In the end, it felt like the math shit was really gimmicky.  Especially since this is a cult hit and not a big budget blockbuster and I thought that it might actually challenge the viewer to think it through for themselves a little.

Finished watching this, great movie. Love the Black and White Cinematography. Also I loved her...
