yeah i have it on gamefly. beats having to actually pay money to see it in theaters.
-
ZING. Man, that looks about 2 Achievements more challenging than Peter Jackson's King Kong Official Game of the Movie with the Really Long Title.
-
This just popped up at Play-Asia; I give it 4 months before it becomes the special-of-the-week for 15 dollahz.
-
apparently its glitched to fuck and a POS game, but Im tempted... Im thinking about playing King Kong also. Will you guys hold it against me? :'( :(
-
King Kong, yes. At least Terminator has a Hard mode
-
wasn't king kong made by the bg&e team?
-
Yes. It was BG&E that landed the contract at Ubi rather than EA; Peter Jackson wanted Michel Ancel on the game, as the story goes.
It's not a bad game; it's very much a PS2 game ported up to a 360 launch title. The Kong sequences are short but a lot of fun; it's surprising how well they put those small brawler bits together with reasonably intuitive FPS sequences as the main dish. It's probably GREAT looking on the PS2, but as a 360 title, you have Le Eye Damage.
There was only one sequence where it seemed buggy, and that might have just been a misplaced camera. OTOH if Terminator is a buggy POS, there's no guarantee it'll pop those Achievements for you, even when you meet the conditions.
-
PC version got recalled cause it wont install period. lawl
Pirates of course figured out how to make it work.

what conditions? you mean "BEAT THE LEVEL" ? get real
-
it could happen.
or it could happen with relation to the difficulty, if it ignores it. or fails to cascade the win to lower difficulties, forcing a re-do. but even that may be by design, as it was in GUN.
-
I havent heard of glitchy achievements for this one, just a really yanky buggy game.
Still: Ive got a two for one game rental coupon, so will probably rent this along along with Wolverine or something for piss easy gamerscore
Just hit 30k :rock

Terrible, terrible game. I played for about an hour and made it to Chapter 6. I wondered how many Chapters there were so I looked online.... 9 freakin' Chapters. WTF?
Also why can't I jump over a damn fence but then I can jump over an even larger concrete barrier just because there's another barrier that I can use as cover? Don't get me started on the dumbass AI either. Hey dipshits I've got the spider droid ripped from Star Wars facing me, hit his battery pack in the back!! Why in the hell do I have to do it everytime.
Pfffttt.... Thankfully I downloaded it and didn't waste my money ;)
-
yeah, i got this game fairly cheap and it's pretty awful.
and what the hell is going on with Grin's engine?
vsync problems to hell and back - especially in the cut scenes where the whole image regularly slices into 4 or so parts!
i haven't seen issues like this in a long long time.
then again, i'm pretty sick at the moment and am heavily drugged up to get me through so maybe i'm seeing things.
Turgid game play too - same enemies in same configuration over and over again.
Dire stuff.
Later that day, DCharlie realized he'd actually been "playing" the HDTV calibration disc.

"We secretly replaced DCharlie's copy of Terminator: Salvation with the HDTV calibration disc. Let's see if he notices...."

Unfortunately, this problem occurs with all 360 versions of GRIN's games. Wanted and Bionic Commando are just as bad (constant tearing). The PS3 and PC versions don't have this issue.
The biggest problem with their engine is loading. I'd assume Terminator is exactly the same. Bionic Commando and Wanted both have lots of smaller areas connected by loading points.
-
So why is GRIN having problems with the 360 instead of the PS3 versions? They seem to be the only developer who has this reversed. Is PS3 the native development platform?
-
How is GUN anyways? I had it on PS2 but couldn't stand playing it knowing theres a better looking version on 360.

I wouldn't even really say it's a PROBLEM, per se, they simply left vertical sync disabled on 360 for reasons nobody understands. All of their games are allowed to go above 30 fps and I believe that is part of the problem. They should limit them to 30 (if they can't hold 60) and enable vertical sync on both machines.
-
Terminator is soooooooooooo bad.

It's possible. From over a year ago, the PS3 was predicted to rapidly overtake the 360 in Europe this year. Possible that bigger-heads-than-you-or-i decided that PS3 should be main. Or maybe they decided to tackle the more difficult platform first, then port up to the 360?
