looks like shit, just like modern warfare 1. Broke ass game
-
It's going to be amazing.
Rio de Janeiro!
-
Infinity Ward are my heroes.
They pick up the FPS genre and turn it into a story driven action balls to the wall pedal to the metal blockbuster game. And then add amazing MP for those not interested in SP.
At 12 million units sold for the 1st one, i hope this one does just as well, and maybe other developers start taking note.
-
:lol
-
I have no idea if you guys are either serious or trolling.
-
theyre being serious, unfortunately
-
Borys and WrikaWrek tag-wanking over a game, that can't be good news.
-
Infinity Ward needs to escape from Activision.

GOTY

Other Fps's this year = obliterated.
Looks more exciting than anything i've played from Killzone 2.
-
Looks great but I doubt that's realtime.

GOTY
Oh look, another game about some war. Day 1, GOTY!
And lulz at people elsewhere throwing Rainbow Six references into the mix after spotting SpecOps. That sure worked out well for the SAS missions in COD4, eh? GRAW3 will likely rip this little point and click adventure to shreds.
-
point and click adventure?
-
The SAS missions were the best ones....
The best thing about this trailer is how great the animations look. It also looks like the singleplayer will have a lot of mission variety so that's good. I'm much more interested in what they'll do with multiplayer though.
-
it reminded me of rainbow six as well by the fact that it might have a story of some sort
-
The SAS missions were the best ones....
Perhaps, but they never really amounted to anything but my team mates acting tactical, and me acting COD1. Seeing people talk about Rainbow Six after spotting some spec ops is just hilarious given how straight forward the whole SAS thing was.
-
the game looks really great
I'm excited for the single player just from seeing the locations (modern urban environment :excited) and I really didn't like the CoD4 single player

I don't give a fuck what the game is about. It looks fun.
-
The animations are what sells the game when you play it. Prebaked lighting and blurry textures don't matter too much when you're runnin and gunnin.
-
SUBMARINES
SWAT TEAMS
DRIVING SKI DOOS
GAME OF THE YEAR
YOUR ALL CARAZY
WHERE IS CAJOLE

This looks completely scripted. I can't believe you're getting so excited over another Scripts of Duty game.
-
scripts of duty
how clever
you got those fps posters hung up on your wall yet? need some scotch tape?
you must be tired of ocd'ing over pixels, need some xanax or something?
-
Of course it's scripted, these campaigns are designed to be fun ONCE. Maybe the special ops missions will offer a lot of replay value but I don't know. You can expect plenty of meat and potatoes in multiplayer though.
-
Looks like Call of Duty is finally dead.
Treyarch will do Modern Warfare 3, IW will do MW5, etc.

uh, no.
-
finally dead? ok dude. another 4 million sold by 2010.

Didn't mean it as a bad thing. I prefer WWII to modern combat. Just so many people bitch and moan about WWII games it seems like they will finally get their way with no more Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, or Brothers in Arms.
-
Go play the dozens of WW2 games if you want WW2. There is no shortage of good ones out there.
It doesn't seem like they decided to go modern because of people bitching, probably because they could do more with a modern setting now. Example: there were no helicopters in active battle in WW2; there are helicopters in active battle in a modern war setting (BF Vietnam was before BF2, but same idea).
I'm sure Treyarch will make CoD6 set in WW2. They'll probably even have a dog sled level to replace the snowmobile chase.

Who gives a fuck if it's scripted? As if you don't get excited about scripted games. Which consists of about 99% of games, difference is in shit scripting and great scripting like Infinity War COD.

I played through COd4 like 4 times.

IIRC Treyarch said in some interview that they were done with WW2.
BIA: Hells Highway bombed; doubt Ubi will do a fourth. And EA just put out Airborne on autopilot so it looks like MoH may be dead too.

GOTY
holy shit
I need to get the first one (on PC)
-
And EA just put out Airborne on autopilot so it looks like MoH may be dead too.
I honestly thought it was one of the better WWII shooters, though. It was still a linear game, but it had a more open ended battlefield that most WWII shooters are lacking. It was a straight shot down a completely scripted and linear corridor. I found the PC version for $10 a while back and had a good time with it. MUCH more enjoyable than CoD World at War...

Airborne is awesome, but after EA scrapped their own Renderware engine for UE3 and delayed the game it was just pushed out without much support so much so that people call it MOH: Stillborne. The PC version is the best, as the consoles weren't tweaked right when ported from the PC and it makes them FUCK HARD.
-
hard, really? i beat it on expert with no problem.
-
the aiming is a little off
-
There are still a ton of stories set during WWII left to tell in fps SP, it's just that developers and publishers stuck with the same old setpieces in the European Theater game after game

Would love to see an "intimate", emotion driven WW2 experience. They've done the epic side of it countless times, how about the other side for a change?

I played through it like 10 times. It's a fun shooting gallery. The first time through is always the best though.

Like maybe your team saves a refugee slumdog kid, who later gets killed in a sneak attack
-
They should have you play as a squad of Americans, where you start the game right out of training camp and fight your first battle together from the beginning. You get to know everyone, their backstory, their ambitions, their views on the war and all that shit. Just make good characters that you're happy to be fighting aside and want to protect. Then, make the final mission have you take the part of a German sniper who is guarding some place that the squad is attacking, and the only way to beat the game is to kill everyone.

That's basically Brothers in Arms, except for the last part.
-
They need more WORLD WAR 2, FUCK YEAH! games like Wolfenstein. I want to see the crazy evil Nazi who do weird experiments and have robot suits, then kick them all in the face with my boot of justice and the American way.

This one guy on B3D (shootmymonkey) talked about a crazy game (http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=30308&highlight=chrome+hitler) company that he worked where they were making the most awesome WW2 game ever. I remember something about you fighting Hitler while he rode chrome T-rex's that had guns attached to them. And instead of health packs, you sucked on a nurse's tits. He kept VERY detailed logs of the insanity there so I think it's real.
