No, if any outsourcing happens, give it to Platinum Games.  I think they're the remnants of the Capcom team that did the Oracles games and Minish Cap.  Am I wrong?

The director and several of the programmers and designers of the Capcom Zelda got absorbed by Nintendo and they joined forces to create Phantom Hourglass.  :yuck :yuck :yuck

The ex-Clover guys who did Okami however, are at Platinum Games.

Give Zelda to High Voltage.  Think of the bump shaders on Link's shield. :drool

Yeah, that was Tokyo.

EAD Kyoto is where Zelda, Pikmin, and the like are created.

I dont even want Eiji making the next Zelda, Phantom Hourglass was the shit but EAD Tokyo would probably hit it out of the ballpark moreso.

Eh I like the games I like for whatever reasons.  I thought it was a lean, neat, and clever game with none of the fat.  The primary reason I will NEVER play Twilight Princess in my life is because of the way Zelda games were becoming chores up until Phantom Hourglass.  Nevertheless, EAD tokyo has reinvented two of Nintendo's biggest mascots superbly and deserve a shot to shake things up.

: As for Retro, I just can't believe the rumor. Metroid never had a dedicated team like Zelda has had for the last decade.  Eiji does Zelda, I'm actually not sure if Retro would work on new IP or continue coding series reboots.

Am I alone in liking Twilight Princess? I haven't played Majora's Mask, yet, but aside from the slow-as-molasses beginning segments, it had great dungeon design and lots of fun parts. It was a much more well rounded game than Wind Waker, and obviously much more technically accomplished than OOT.

I liked it, but aside from some cool dungeons/boss fights it didn't really do anything new.

The next console Zelda game really needs to have its formula reworked.

It's my second favorite 3d Zelda, Majora being my favorite.

I definitely liked it. Though I felt it could have delivered better on other fronts. It definitely has some of the coolest and creative dungeons in the series.

:bow :bow Arbiter's Grounds :bow2 :bow2

It was in IGN's latest podcast.  And Retro, along with that Metroid Prime trilogy disc, probably has a game to announce at E3 next week.

I don't understand the Retro hate, in fact I've always thought that MP1 (since it's the only one I played from the series) was a fun first person adventure game. Kinda like Zelda if Zelda was futuristic, done in space, and is played from a first person perspective.

I know I'm gonna get laughed, but I don't think it was going to be a bad idea, as long as the project gets overseen by higher ups (like Miyamoto) for creative input. They're talented "developers", period.

I love Retro--I've loved every Prime game they've released.  But they seem to be a very pointed and narrow developing team, and I would much rather see them do something brand new OUTSIDE of the first person genre to prove their worth a little more before being handed something so big as Zelda.  And before you say Metroid is big too, well, you're right, but Metroid was for the longest time a question mark for Nintendo in terms of realizing the series in three dimensions...whereas Zelda had already developed a near perfect formula in 3D that made it the huge series that it is today.

I liked TP, but the intro sucks ass. I don't care that it's a retread, but the moon drop hunting bullshit was a nightmare. I'm also irked at the 'one key at a time' linear dungeon design but at least it's well-implemented for what it is.

It was missing a little something, but I really liked TP as well.  The wolf bits I thought were particularly well done as I usually hate the dark side of light/dark games, but I loved the twilight bits.

And the characters were all-round awesome.

The only thing that bothered me was how distinguished mentally-challenged fellow-proof it was.  Make it a bit more challening, please.

And fuck MIDI.

Maybe, but can you blame them?  Nerds are a fickle, grating folk.
