The music is all stored as mp3, performed on a high quality synthesizer. For Wolf, we used ogg, because that's what was in the Redux codebase that I started with, but I don't have all that CPU performance margin anymore, so it was necessary to use the iPhone's audio decompression hardware through the AudioQueue services. The music is the largest part of the application, but everything else is still well over the 10 meg cellular app transfer limit, so I'm not tempted to try and squeeze it under like we did with Wolfenstein. Maybe being able to get an app over 3G really isn't very important to its success. The fact that people are downloading Myst on the iPhone is heartening -- I have ideas for leveraging our high end idTech-5 content creation pipeline for a future iPhone game, if people will go for a few hundred meg download.
Yeah I'm in my hotel right now. Want to come have sex?
I want them to finish the trilogy for Half-Life 2, Methodis. These three games together are basically Half-Life 3 anyway.
It looks fucking awesome, and it's made by IO. And it's not a fucking typical war game, so I guess the sociopaths directing this industry will shun it.
yes.Front Mission = 3rd person shooter developed by the guys who are making the new GI Joe game = LULZOMGWTFLULZINFINITEIHATEYOUSQUEENIX
Have you played the GI Joe game? No? Okay then, don't start casting out judgment. Homecoming was one of the best Silent Hill games yet in terms of actual gameplay.square enix so far:
drakengard 3
Well, that's a series I could have lived without seeing return. Didn't Ubisoft publish the second one?
Holy shit at these leaks :lol
I have never been less interested in an E3 (or videogames as a whole) since....well, ever. I honestly wasn't even aware E3 was taking place next week until last Thursday or whenever the hell it was when I saw this thread.

not much gameplay here, but the co-op and loot aspects make it look interesting
Duckman can suck a fat one.
Borderlands is an interesting-looking cross between first-person shooter and role-player. You take on one of three roles (two of which we see during our demo), each with unique skills, abilities and backgrounds, and developer Gearbox Software is pushing the RPG angle heavily.
Gearbox demos the game in co-op and says it's meant to be played that way, and in order to promote and encourage that you will be able to take your character - whatever his current level, equipment and abilities - into another player's game, however much progress he or she has made. Any progress you make there and any items you collect can then be transported back to your single-player game, or indeed taken to another friend's co-op game.
But hang on, you might say, if you're just replaying old bits with a friend, won't you already have all the stuff the two of you discover? And won't you feel a bit bad nicking his loot? Not a bit of it, says Gearbox, for a number of reasons. The big one is that in-game weapons are procedurally generated, which means that Gearbox has laid down a range of parameters (loading mechanism, stock, barrel, etc.) and the game itself creates the guns. The system can produce over 650,000 variations.
When we were children...It's basically Left 4 Dead. With more interesting enemies but probably more scripted scenarios.

Have these conferences always overlapped like this?
How are those more interesting enemies? All I saw were a bunch of winged harpie type things that run at you.
LAME.
Basically yeah. The setting is somewhat interesting and it looks like there's more actual enemy types than in L4D. But what matters is the AI and level design so we still have to see that. It's also important how they got around the friend codes and voice chat problems by letting you highlight the codes of anyone you played against. Their other fighting game Gladiator AD also looks pretty nice. How are those more interesting enemies? All I saw were a bunch of winged harpie type things that run at you.there are vampires, werewolves, zombies, and other monsters
LAME.
i gotta give it to them, they're one of the few companies out there even trying to make interesting wii games

Those interviewing Polyphony Digital legend Kazanori Yamauchi at E3 tomorrow have been told not to ask questions about Gran Turismo 5, VG247 has learned.

Screens of Army of Two PSP. It looks like it's the same style as Killzone Liberation, which is awesome.
