Although I had problems with NSMB, I thought it was a fantastic virgin run and better than every 2d mario except for Yoshi's Island. Ninthing restlessness in progress. However is this the only canvassed area? I'd love a 2d console zelda as well.

I got the gold medals, but it's definitely one of the weaker 2D Marios.

I liked NSMB but something was kind of ... off. I don't know if it was the 2.5 graphics, or the blandness of the levels and powerups. I would love a new one stylized after Super Mario World. 2D sprites, big and colorful with a shit ton of levels.

Its ugly and the only way you can die is by pit. Its good, not awesome.

Mario Wii needs:
- lives reset to 3/5 on powerdown. At some point exploring levels for coins is pointless because you don't need lives
-No item reserve bullshit

I'll be happy then.

I thought it was very simple and almost bare bones, but I didn't think it was boring. I can see how someone would have that opinion, but I don't play alot of platformers (I haven't even played all of the 2d Mario games).

Post by: TakingBackSunday on June 02, 2009, 11:50:54 AM: A lot of people felt like it was missing a lot of the charm of the older 2d games; some of the worlds were typically ugly, the music was nowhere near the quality of World or Bros. 3, and while the 2.5d style I thought was pretty cool, it probably would've been regarded highly if it stuck to beautiful 2d sprites and backgrounds.

I enjoyed it, but honestly when I play it I always find myself just wanting to play World.
