360 was one of the platforms, right?  I'm not surprised they had to cut cross platform play.  I can't imagine MS would allow that for many reasons.

So the game would require some kind of membership /outside/ of XBL to manage transactions, similar to FF XI? I just don't get how to put a free-to-play game on XBL with microtransactions.

Yeah, no x-play between PC and 360 owners. So far it seems Shadowrun was the only game to allow this IIRC.

Lost Planet Colonies also did this.

30 bucks and no cross-platform play... I see empty lobbies in its futchar.
