90s music >>>>>>> 00s music

Also, I'm not sure that music will suddenly become better just because it's a new decade, unfortunately. Autotune isn't going away, for example.

And I don't really see what's wrong with the song. I quite like it.

It is like The Beatles or U2 of the 90's luckily people came to their senses quickly.

Best thing about 90s music was the spillover from the 80s when it was like the 80s but not so campy.

Then it started to get meld into 00s music. :yuck

I don't think the new decade will be any better - most male singers now sounds like Armstrong from Greenday and it seems that'll be the trend for a while.

Late 90s music is okay.

It's like 00s music if 00s music didn't suck balls.

Hell I've always liked that New Radicals song.  Even when it first came out it felt like it was one of those songs that has already been around forever. There's a certain timelessness about it...well, if you can ignore the bits about Marylin Manson and Courtney Love that is.  Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance" had a similar reaction with me.

Worst of the 90's to me (outside of Insane Clown Posse) was fucking Candlebox.  Nothing better represented the end to the "grunge" period than that band.  Awful shit.

I'd always assumed Candlebox was a hair-metal holdover trying to sound like a grunge band. That's how their stuff sounded to me, anyways.

That's pretty much how I saw them too.  Ugly Kid Joe with a grunge make over.

00s music is so worthless. 9/11, a hugely unpopular war, 2G2D, and all we get is some Beyonce crap that no one will remember in 5 years.

I think the problem goes far beyond music.

Things that annoyed me about the 90's:
-middle class hippies
-the 'conform- be a rebel mentality'
-the clothes, so mundane
-middle class wiener kids complaining about the world
-the very 'coroporate' endless enthusiasm to make the world a better place

This music\clip has all of that.

Did Flannel Girl have that combo of skinny jeans and long flannel shirt? It's a pretty cute look for most girls.

The 90's were amazing for EDM, lots of great new genres formed, lots of innovation. Didn't care for the rock/grunge of the rest of the 90's though, I like some of the more modern, electronic-influenced indie rock of today much better. But I sure as fuck liked the games coming out around that time!!!

Music has become way too diverse and way too commercialized for "popular" music to correctly symbolize an era.

There's enough fuck bush and fuck the war shit out there, but it's not going to be Top 20 stuff. You really just have to know where to look.

Wait, don't hipsters wear flannel shirts now?

Totally outside of hipsterdom, I started Flannel Fridays at my high school with a friend. But we were wearing like $5 Sears flannels, and it was hilarious. Free-ballin' Friday was also in there.

How would I know what hipsters are doing?

They probably wear extremely tight flannel shirts slightly unbuttoned to reveal their ironic T-shirts.
