There is not enough :lol 's in the world to describe how happy I am that I won't have to deal with this shit ever again.
Actually i've never got a RROD, just my 3 xboxes have all had the same problem of the laser stop working.
*knocks on wood that my fourth won't die

Second time this happened to me, first one was a year after launch...so it was still under warranty and had it back 2 weeks after. Out of warranty now :violin

Welcome to the club. :'( Xbox 360 #4 is doing well but I expect it to go randomly at some point soon!
-
Ha ha.

Ooof, hope you enjoy paying $125 plus shipping costs both ways :(

How old is that system, Tieno? If you don't have one of the newer models it might just be worthing buy a new arcade unit instead of getting your old one repaired.

Buy a PC.
Already have a PC, saving for a macbook! :smug

Old, at least 2-3 years. Going to wait for a price drop or buy an arcade when I have enough money.
-
Well then it sucks for you. Do you have at least a DS or PSP to play something while being 360-less?
I have a PS3 :smug
I'm not in a gaming period atm so I don't mind besides the fucking money, mostly been using my ps3 for watching movies and stuff.

I had 2 Elites red-ring on me. I feel your pain. :'(
First one died while I was playing Third Strike; second one died while I was playing Rock Band 2.
-
It's part of life when you're a 360 owner. Best to accept it and move on.

Damn. On Elites?!

Yup, my third Xbox is an Elite too (Falcon).
*knocks on wood*
-
when mine went I just took it to a local modder and had him fix it for a few bucks in 20 minutes or so. works great, on the very rare occasion that I actually turn the paperweight on.
-
I haven't had any red ring yet (*knock on wood*), but I am on my third 360, as the first two would randomly reboot, somehow thinking I had tried to eject the disc... or something like that.
-
My 360 is still kicking. Of course, it was only born 7 months ago.
-
My 360 is 8 months old and the DVD drive no longer works consistently.
-
My 360 was manufactured 1/09 and may be a little quieter than my PS3. :smug
-
My third 360 (an early model) has been going strong for ages now.
Although the tray generally refuses to eject unless there's a disk in it so I'm not totally missing out on the full Xbox360 experience. :rock

I may be talking out from my buttocks again, but the 3-year warranty is probably from the date of your most recent replacement. So if it RRoD'd before and it was repaired, the 3-year coverage is from the date of return after that repair. Can anyone confirm or deny?
-
I might have to make a call to get my DVD drive replaced for free.
If they won't do it, I'm just going to pitch the piece of shit.
-
I'm on my third Xflop
Worst made console ever.
-
I bought my Xbox360 during March 2006. It still works today.

Not really since I've barely play it anymore.
-
still on my first as well. works fine
-
Not sure why my DVD player went to shit on mine. I don't use it that often.
-
I'm on my third 360 since launch. The first time they fixed it out of warranty (a little over a year after launch). They just replaced my 2nd RROD unit this week. I haven't had to pay a cent to ship/replace either of them.
