Didn't wanna get cute about it with funny/clever names, since it says you'll be unable to edit it once chosen. What's the big deal about this, though? So you can more easily have people find you? Like it's really hard to do a local search with a person's full name. Usually you only have to wade through a page or two of results, if that.

Regardless, this is pretty stupid anyway. As far as I can tell, the username is only used for facebook.com/username, and isn't anywhere else on the site. Seems pretty pointless.

You can set individual items privacy levels but if you want to make sure, just log out and go back to your profile link
