Today has been a fucking nightmare upon nightmares and it's all because of a fucking dickhole of a mailman.
To explain, I was suppose to receive a check in the mail for some work that I had done for a website this week. Yesterday I contacted the person issuing the check to see what was up and was then given a tracking number which told me that on Monday at 7pm they attempted to deliver the letter. I found this odd because A) I saw the mailman that day several hours earlier and B) he didn't leave a slip.
So because it was after hours I called today at 8pm when they opened to have them redeliver it as I wasn't available to go pick it up and why should I? So I waited all day for the mailman to show up on the phone with the check issuer to let him know what was up and with the post office to try and just pick it up but it was too late now since it was out already.
Shortly after 3pm rolls around and here's the mailman delivering mail but wait a second, he skips over my home entirely. I try to grab his attention but he proceeds to shrug me off as it appears he's on his cellular phone sending text-based messages. He has goes across the street hands the gentleman living there his weekly shoppers advertisement and makes his way back to his truck(after hitting up to more houses). I figure I have a lot of mail and he had to double back. He then proceeds to drive off.
Furiously, I make my way into the kitchen where I nearly tear the phone off the wall(it's the old kind where it rests on the wall) to call USPS and figure out what the fuck is going on. I'm told that the mailman shouldn't even be out there until around 6pm and to wait until then since my mailbox acts as a checkpoint(the have to scan it) and there's no way he can not show up there.
At around 4pm he drives back past my house and continues on.
It is now 6pm and I decide to tack the mailman down personally and get my fucking mail. So I go looking for him on foot, asking if any of the other mailmen have seen him, they haven't so I call the Post Office back and demand my fucking mail. Once again I am told that it's still out and that once the mailman assigned to the route my house in on, they'll ask him what's going on.
At 8pm I get a call back from the woman I had been dealing with all day telling me that the mailman had arrived and she let me speak to him. He proceeded to insult me by saying that he came to my home and even knocked on my door several times. I immediately called bullshit on this and stated that I had my door open all day and he completely ignored my house I even had neighbors that could validate that because they were outside at the time. He told me my neighbors would say he did knock on my door, said something under his breath and hung up on me. The entire conversation lasted 60 seconds exactly.
At this point I was floored beyond belief and called back to let them know I would not let this motherfucker insult me and then say I was lying the entire fucking time about this piece of mail. The woman that I had dealt with the entire time knew something was amiss and told me that after she got off from work she would deliver the mail personally. I was immediately overwhelmed with guilt that I had continuously bothered this woman all day.
It is now about 8:30pm and she calls to let me know that she will be leaving there shortly and one other thing: I had five other certified letter being held for me. No knock at the door, No note stating that something was waiting for me, Nothing. Of course she brought those with her and again, went out of her way for something that wasn't her fault at all.
She also gave me the number of the supervisor whom I will be calling Monday because it's obvious that this jackass doesn't do his job correctly and cannot be trusted to handle mail. Especially the time sensitive kind. I don't want him fired but I sure as fuck don't want him dealing with my mail.
Perhaps it's time for privatized mail. Or a series of tubes that mail is stuck in and then delivered instantly to homes.

Complain to the supervisor and the boss above him as well. Writing up an "I missed you slip" is soooooo difficult. Get his ass canned!

Who are you expecting certified letters from such that they'd not follow up on their own due to them not being delievered?

he means you're full of shit. any respectable company would follow up on "certified letters" and that you crying over your $50 check for doing nothing is pure child's play

I expected you to come in and tell a story about how you fucked a mailwoman.

lol i usually have an issue like this for certified mail at my house if a new guy is doing the mail. If the normal guy is running the router I get my mail, otherwise they just say they knocked and couldnt get an answer.
