Title: Movies Hollywood SHOULD remake!
Post by: The Fake Shemp on December 09, 2006, 07:04:01 PM: I'm sick and tired of Hollywood remaking already good movies. Why don't they attempt to remake the mediocre and promising-but-very-flawed movies of years past? So let's hear your recommendations. I'll start.

The Omega Man. The Heston film is a somewhat cult classic, but it's very cheesy and I think the lack of coherent storytelling and budget hurt this film a lot. It hasn't aged well at all. That said, the groundwork is there for an awesome movie. With some money behind it, and a decent director and writer, this would could be awesome.

In 10-12 years or so I'd love to see a more experienced tackle the premise of the first movie, which was held from brilliance by unexperienced directors and poor acting.

It's one of the worst movies of all time, along with The Third Man. I would love to see Ron Howard's spin on it, or Robert Zemekis

have you never seen Pitch Black. It was a low budget scifi/thriller. It did many things well but it could benefit from some Hollywood moneys.

Yeah but I don't think it would really benefit from a remake.

I disagree. Pitch Black was a movie that by all means should've been a trainwreck. Why roll the dice again and get what the concept really deserves? It's reheated Aliens.
