I'm sick and tired of Hollywood remaking already good movies. Why don't they attempt to remake the mediocre and promising-but-very-flawed movies of years past? So let's hear your recommendations. I'll start.
The Omega Man. The Heston film is a somewhat cult classic, but it's very cheesy and I think the lack of coherent storytelling and budget hurt this film a lot. It hasn't aged well at all. That said, the groundwork is there for an awesome movie. With some money behind it, and a decent director and writer, this would could be awesome.

Actually I saw Citizen Cane when I was really, really young; I don't remember much of it, so I need to watch it again
