Will provide interviews and all other great stuff later. There might be some PS3 trolling, if I'm lucky.

Well, since you asked...
No, not really.

Go to the banquet and take a picture of the sad Matrix Online table.

new eq2 expansion announced

Eq1 expansion announced
-
Oh cool, Sony might announce some neat gam--
It's their event for their MMO stuff.
:lol :lol :lol :lol
-
FreeRealms is kind of fun, but you can already play that on the PC.
-
Sony still has fans?
-
MMOs :yuck
-
They keynote pretty much confirmed PlanetSide and Vanguard are on the shutdown list now. Which is sad because those are SOE's best games.
-
When does Free Realms hit the PS3, seeing how it's free, I might check it out.
-
Vanguard is totally worth a re-launch. Here's an article about it (http://www.mmorpgfocus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=686), what do you think Mana?
I agree completely. The game is probably the best MMO on the market if you're sick of how casual WOW is becoming. It's like the true successor to EQ1, but with next gen improvements. The combat is the best in any MMO hands down. I'm playing a Paladin and every fight is FUN since it's more than spamming 222332322 like in WOW. I'll keep the game installed until the day they pull the plug, which looks to be soon with it being completely ignored at Fan Faire.

It might happen later this year hopefully it replaces HOME.
I don't know. The former lead designers in both EQ and EQ2 have been assigned to some new secret game. My theory? Free to play EQ1 remake using the FreeRealms engine on PS3.
-
They won't shut down EQ1. It's still their bread and butter and prime money maker. Also the backlash from players would be something they'll never recover from.
As soon as FreeRealms was a proven success, Smed pulled the EQ and EQ2 leads and gave them a new game to work on and the rumor is it's an EQ game. With 4 million FR accounts, it makes sense for them to do a Free to Play EQ game with the EQ/EQ2 designers heading it up
Also, Bruce Ferguson (the former EQ2 designer) worked on FreeRealms for a while. The peices fit.
-
By the way, has anyone played that Pirate game? I thought about checking it out but I figure it's a ghost town.
Did the trial. Was pretty dead. Just play Pirates! instead.
-
Because the EQ name is still strong and if you combine that with the accessability of FreeRealms you have a potential WoW killer.
-
Is DCUO playable there? I'm curious how it's changed since I played it two years ago.
-
You àre the worst source for anything, greeb man
-
Green Man is the shit. Fan Faire is awesome.
-
Green Man is about as informed about insider game secrets as Malek is to insider access to girls pants.
Anywho Vanguard was shit. I played it at launch and it was the buggiest piece of shit fucking trash ever. I quit and delted the game and broke the disc when I logged in one day to see my main guy was a totally different guy than the one I created. Terrible.
And Pirates of the Burning Sea was alright, got and played that at launch too but it was boring. If you want to try it, I have the cd key I can give you cause it's just shitting here.
-
Oh shit.

MyNameIsMud "Brought the rain"

Yea he played a game 2 1/2 years ago and disregards the fact that were talking about it as it exist today, not the launch version. Typical PS3 fantard.
-

:lol WTF, how does that even happen.

They redid the character models. But he's too much of a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow to notice that you can customize you characters appearance at any time right at the select screen. For free unlike wow that charges $15 each time you want to change it.
-
FFFUUU.. $15? Wow.
(I'm clueless on MMORPGs).
-
no ManaByte, that's not what happened you fucking distinguished mentally-challenged inbred of a fuck.
What happens is when the game launched there was a bug where if you logged off in Vanguards equivalent of Stormwind, you'd come back to find your character looking radically different. I went from a young puerto rican with black hair and a zorro mustache to a white guy with white long hair.

You're still ignoring the fact that that's easily changed via a button on the select screen.

MMORPGFOCUS.COM TEAM: Anything else you’d like our readers to know?
MyNameIsMud: Yeah, get a copy editor.
-
Nobody fucking cares about Vanguard. Stop posting your fake articles on here.
-
does anybody even play everquest these days? i thought wow decimated that shitpile.
-
when i hopped on eq1 two years ago, it was a freakin' wasteland. there were no new players or even alts; it was just geriatric holdouts using it as a cumbersome chat session to complain that wow had rendered their lifestyle lonely and uncool.
-
Mana you fucking pedophile it doesnt fucking matter that you can edit your fucking character as I was saying that when I relogged into the game my character was replaced with someone elses.

EQ Next confirmed at Fan Faire:
http://www.completeheal.com/?p=1272
I also watched the world premier of the EQ documentary this morning. The room was packed, as you might imagine, and I camped on the floor in front of the screen. It was a great journey down memory lane and I found it interesting just how many people have been influenced in so many ways by the video game I’ve now played off and on for 10 years. Of particular interest was the favorable commentary by the World of Warcraft lead designers who were interviewed for segments of the show. Also, there was a bit of a teaser in there about something called “EQ Next.” I talked to a few developers later in the day and they were very tight lipped about this deal. I walked away believing that EQ Next is code for the next Everquest project. Maybe that’s not exactly an earth shattering deduction but something is underway for another Norrath based MMO.
-
sure it's not named EQ Next MMO to Get Shit Canned By WoW?
-
Someone at Fan Faire said Matrix was down to 1,200 subs when they canned it.
-
Publish the names of those 1,200 people so we can mock them.
-
AWESOME REPORTING. Surely, no one would have deuced that EQ Next means "Next EQ". Anyway, it's probs a graphic upgrade ++ causual WoW shit.
-
I'm curious if they meant actual Matrix subs, or people logging in.
Because Matrix is included with their StationAccess plan, which a lot of people have. It's $30 a month for all their MMOs and most EQ/EQII players are on that plan.
If it was just StationAccess people logging in to Matrix, then it's really sad. If it was actually 1,200 people paying $15 a month for Matrix, they need to be hunted down and punched in the face.

It's more likely a Free to Play EQ running on the FreeRealms engine, but tooled to a older audience than FreeRealms is. Both the former EQ and EQII producers are working on it, and the EQII producer was in charge of FreeRealms for a while prior to beta.

I would like to reveal my AllAccessPlan. For 30$ a month I will come and fart in your face and eat all of your favorite foods out of your pantry.
-
Ugh no.
-
The Odus stuff sounds really good. The Hole will be a giant contested dungeon.
-
FreeRealms is really good, but the new expanions are more exciting.
-
Hard to believe it's being done by SOE Austin.

I would like to subscribe to this plan. Do you take Master Card or American Express?
Yes. both. In fact, as a special service, I'll bill both for the full amount.
-
Wow Kevin O'Hara is back at SOE. He left SOE Austin (after SWG crash and burned) and joined BioWare Austin to work on KOTOR...strange that he's on The Agency now.
